Salon booking app example with services and booking requests

A salon's regulars rebook every six weeks, and an app on their phone makes that a one minute job. This example for an invented Subiaco salon has four tabs: a home screen with the most booked services, the full price list, a booking request form and the studio details.

How the app was made

Native apps in OneCraft start from a Code mode site. The AI writes an Expo app with Expo Router tabs, Uniwind styling and react-native-reusables components, exports it for the web preview and checks every tab at phone and tablet widths, including dark mode. This app has four tab screens, components for the hero, service rows, hours and booking form, a hook that sends the request, and the prices in a content file.

Getting it onto phones

The app builder shows the app in a phone frame and gives you the project to download. You build and submit it yourself with EAS on your own Expo, Apple and Google accounts: Apple charges 99 USD a year and Google 25 USD once, and a new personal Google account must test with at least 12 people for 14 days. Apple also rejects apps that only repeat a website, so a booking form and price list in native tabs, as here, is the minimum to aim for.

What makes this app work

Book is a tab, not a link

The booking form has its own tab in the bar at the bottom, and every promotion on the home screen leads to it. On a phone, the tab bar is the menu, and the action that matters most sits in it.

Time and price on every service

Each service row shows how long it takes and the price, such as balayage from $290 over 180 minutes. Clients plan their day around a colour appointment, so the time matters as much as the price.

Requests land in a collection

The form submits to a bookings collection the salon made public write. Each request appears as a row in the code builder's Data tab and the owner gets an email, so nothing depends on checking Instagram messages.

Questions people ask

How do I make a booking app for my salon?

Create a Code mode site for the salon, then open the app builder and choose the screens, here Home, Bookings and Contact, and the AI writes the app from the site's brief and data. You change it through the AI chat and preview it in a phone frame before building it with EAS.

Does the app book real time slots?

No. The form sends a booking request with the service and a preferred time to a data collection, and the salon confirms by text. There is no live calendar in OneCraft apps, so a salon that needs one should link to its booking system instead.

Will OneCraft publish the app to the App Store?

No. OneCraft never submits apps for you. You build and submit it with EAS under your own Apple and Google developer accounts, which keeps the app in your name. The app builder lists the EAS commands, with copy buttons, and the store checklist.

Can the app show my prices from the website?

In this app the price list is in a content file, edited by asking the AI chat. Prices can also live in a data collection that both the site and the app read, so a change in the Data tab shows in both without a new build.

What does it cost to make the app?

Native apps need a paid plan, since they come from a Code mode site. Starting the app costs one credit, then the AI's work and each web export are billed in credits. Apple's and Google's developer fees are paid to them directly.
