Introduction letter, Crossline Couriers to The Paper Fern
Business introduction letter with three services and one proof point
A new business introducing itself has no reputation to lean on, so the only thing that carries weight is a number it is willing to publish. This one page letter from a courier lists three services with their cut offs and prices, then states that 1,389 of 1,412 pilot deliveries arrived before 5pm, and says the figure is published monthly whether it is good or not.

How to adapt this document
For a professional service with no price list, replace the table with three problems you solve and what each engagement typically costs, because a reader who cannot picture the fee assumes it is out of reach. For an introduction to a business that already has a supplier, add one sentence naming the thing that supplier cannot do, such as a cut off time or a size limit, and offer to sit alongside them rather than replace them, since a first order is far easier to win than a switch. For a letter going to a large organisation, drop the trial offer and ask instead for the procurement or onboarding process, because nobody in that setting can accept ten free deliveries without a purchase order.
What makes this document work
Three services, each with a cut off and a price
Same day booked before 11am and delivered inside 25 kilometres by 5pm from $14.50. Two hour, picked up within 30 minutes, from $26.00. An evening run collected daily at 5pm and delivered next morning from $9.80. A reader can price a job from the table without calling.
The proof point shows its working
Of 1,412 same day jobs in the pilot, 1,389 arrived before 5pm, which is 98.4 per cent, and the 23 that were late were on the two days the Cobden Street bridge was closed. A business must be able to prove the claims it advertises, and a figure with its denominator attached is one you can.
The trial has an end and no paperwork
First ten deliveries free in July, the rest at the table rates, no minimum, no account fee, nothing to sign and nothing to cancel. Naming what happens in week five, that you say so and it stops, is what removes the unspoken worry that a trial becomes a contract.
Questions people ask
What should a business introduction letter include?
Who you are, what you sell with prices, one piece of evidence, and an easy first step. This one adds what it cannot do, which builds more trust than another claim. Leave out the mission statement and the founding story, because neither helps a shop owner decide whether to book a delivery this week.
How do you write an introduction letter without sounding like a cold pitch?
Say why this reader, and be specific. This letter tells the shop it is one of twenty on Cobden Street being written to before anyone else, names the local bridge closure in its own statistics, and offers to run the first jobs personally. A letter that could have gone to any address reads like a mail drop.
Should an introduction letter include prices?
Yes, as a from price with the conditions attached. Hiding prices to force a phone call wastes both sides' time and reads as a business with something to hide. Where a price varies a lot, give a worked example rather than a range, so the reader can see what a typical job actually costs.
Can a new business make claims about its performance?
Only claims it can prove. Under Australian consumer law a business must not make false or misleading representations, and it has to be able to substantiate what it advertises. This letter quotes a real pilot with the numbers behind it and explains the failures, rather than describing itself as reliable and fast.
How long should a business introduction letter be?
One page, and it should be readable in a minute. This one has four short paragraphs, a three row table and a callout. If a service needs more explaining than that, the letter is the wrong tool and the right move is to ask for fifteen minutes rather than to write two pages.
What follow up should an introduction letter promise?
Something specific and small. Here the founder says he will drop in during the week of 15 June with a price card, and gives a phone number and an email for anyone who wants to start sooner. A letter that ends with we look forward to hearing from you puts the work on the reader and usually gets nothing.

Make one like thisOther document examples
Thank you letter to a client after a completed project
A thank you letter that only says thank you is forgettable, and one that only asks for a review is transparent. This one page letter from a landscaper names what was actually built, gives four things to do this summer so the work survives, and only then asks for a review and offers a referral deal worth $650.
Price increase letter template with the old and new price side by side
A price increase letter fails when the customer has to work out what it means for them. This one page example puts every membership type in one table with the old price, the new price and the difference, then names the reader's own membership and tells them it is $4 a fortnight, or $104 over a year.
Contract renewal letter template with the changes in one table
A renewal letter has to do two things a reminder email never does: show exactly what is different about the new term, and say what happens if nobody replies. This one puts four changed terms side by side with the old ones, fixes a reply by date, and states plainly that cover stops on the end date.
