Carpenter flyer for decks, pergolas and built ins
A carpenter flyer sells a project the reader has been imagining for months, so it should show that the imagining can happen before any money is spent. These three designs for Myrtlebeam Carpentry, a fictional two carpenter business in Moonah, Hobart, offer a 3D sketch before you commit and print a starting price for decks and pergolas.
The 3 designs
The same business laid out three ways, on three templates and three colour themes. Every price, name and time on these was written for this example, so you can judge the layouts on real content rather than placeholder text.

The three designs
The promo design has no photo: a big headline on a gradient, a "book a free measure" button, a story paragraph, a quote panel and three priced features. It costs nothing to keep fresh, so use it for regular letterbox drops and Facebook posts. The process design opens with a full width photo of a deck under construction, then the headline in very large type and three numbered steps, and suits a display at a timber yard or a builders merchant. The brochure design uses a circular pergola photo, a short story about the business, and a dark footer with prices and contacts, which makes it a good leave behind after a measure or a handout at a home show stand.
What this flyer must carry
The services (decks, pergolas, custom wardrobes), two anchor prices with their sizes, the GST note, the 3D sketch promise, the service area (Kingston to Brighton) and the licence and insurance line. In Tasmania, building work above set value thresholds must be done by a licensed builder, so a carpenter who takes on full deck and pergola builds should print the licence number; Myrtlebeam shows a fictional CBOS licence, 834291, and its ABN. End with one action, booking a free measure.
How to adapt this flyer
For a kitchen joiner, use the brochure design with a kitchen photo and replace deck prices with a per linear metre cabinet price and a showroom visit. For a carpenter focused on renovations and repairs, use the promo design and turn the three features into door hanging, skirting and window repairs with an hourly rate, because small jobs are bought on price per hour. For a timber stair builder, the process design suits a three step story of measure, draw and install, with one finished staircase photo at the top.
What makes these work
The 3D sketch removes the biggest risk
The promo design gives its quote panel to one promise: the customer sees the deck in 3D, from the back door, before a single board is cut. For a $9,800 job, the fear is not the price but ending up with something that looks wrong. Offering a sketch first answers that fear directly.
Each price says what it buys
Decks from $9,800 are defined as 20 square metres of hardwood or treated pine, footings to oil. Pergolas from $6,500 are a 4 by 3 metre frame. A "from" price only helps when the reader can picture the size behind it.
Three steps instead of a capability list
The process design reduces the job to 01 Sketch in 3D, 02 Fixed price, 03 Build and oil. Homeowners worry about trades disappearing halfway through; a short, numbered sequence ending in handover says the job has an end.
Questions people ask
What photo should lead a carpenter flyer?
Work in progress or a finished job you built, never a stock luxury deck you could not deliver. The process design here uses a mitre saw on a half laid deck, which says "tradesperson" before any words are read. Upload JPEG, PNG, WebP or GIF up to 10 MB into a saved flyer; photos fill their frame and crop from the centre.
Is it worth offering a 3D sketch on a flyer?
If you can deliver it quickly, yes. A sketch turns a vague idea into something a couple can agree on, and it gives the carpenter a second visit to present a fixed price. Only promise it if you can produce it within a few days of the measure, and say whether it is free.
Does a Tasmanian carpenter need to print a licence number?
If the work needs a licensed builder, showing the licence number on advertising is good practice and lets a customer check you on the public register. Small repairs may not need one, so check the Consumer, Building and Occupational Services rules for your work. This example prints a fictional licence number on two of the three designs.
Why are there no photos on the promo design?
Because it was built for headline, story and prices, with the space a photo would take given to the quote panel and the three priced features. That makes it cheaper to update: change a price or a sentence and it is ready, with no new photo to source. The other two designs carry the photos.
Can these carpenter flyers be printed as a two sided handout?
Yes. Add a second page in the flyer builder, from the library or blank, and export as PDF; the PDF includes every page, one bitmap per page. PNG and JPG export only the active page. For a two sided print, put the brochure design on the front and the process design on the back.

Garage door flyer for motor installs, repairs and new doors
A garage door flyer has two jobs: sell the upgrade people have been putting off, and be the number on the fridge when a spring snaps at night. These three designs for Liftlark Garage Doors, a fictional business in Newcastle NSW, lead with "Automate your door for $549" and keep the 24 hour breakdown line and the NSW licence number in view.
Waterproofing flyer for leaking shower repair without retiling
A waterproofing flyer has to win against the homeowner's worst guess, which is that a leaking shower means ripping out every tile. These three designs for Quokkaseal Waterproofing, a fictional Perth business, lead with "Fix the leak, keep the tiles", a $690 starting price and a 10 year warranty, then explain how the repair is done.
Bathroom renovation flyer with three package tiers
A bathroom renovation flyer has to replace "it depends" with a price range, a time frame and one person to deal with, because those are the three things that stop people starting. These three designs for Wrenwater Bathrooms, a fictional Melbourne builder, offer three fixed price tiers at $12,000, $18,000 and $26,000, a full renovation in 10 working days, and a named site lead.
