What is a link in bio?
A link in bio is the single clickable web address that social platforms such as Instagram and TikTok allow in a profile. Because posts cannot carry links, creators and businesses point that one address to a simple page of buttons, a link in bio page, listing everything followers might want: a shop, a booking form, new releases and other profiles.
Link in bio started as a phrase in captions, check the link in bio, because Instagram captions do not make web addresses clickable. It now also names the page that link opens.

Why it exists
Instagram allows clickable links in a profile but not in post captions, and other platforms limit links in similar ways. One profile link has to serve every post, so people point it to a page that holds many links. That page is what most people mean today by a link in bio.
What a link in bio page contains
A profile photo, a name, a one line bio, social icons, and a short list of large buttons, each going somewhere specific: the latest product, a booking form, a newsletter, a video, a shop. Some layouts give each link a thumbnail or show links as photo tiles, which suits shops and food creators.
When it works best
When the list is short and current, with the link people came for at the top. A follower who taps through from a post about a new release expects that release first. A list of fifteen links, half of them for things that ended months ago, loses them.
Common mistakes
Labelling buttons by platform, such as Spotify, instead of by what people get, such as Listen to Harbour Lights. Leaving expired offers on the page. Using a page that cannot grow into a website when the business does. And never checking which links get used.
Where it shows up in OneCraft
Link page is one of the ten site kinds. It publishes a single page without a menu bar, with three layouts: stacked buttons, cards with thumbnails or photo tiles. Three templates cover a band, a food creator and an illustrator, and the page lives at your own onecraft.live address or a custom domain on a paid plan.
Questions people ask
Is link in bio only for Instagram?
No. The phrase comes from Instagram, but the same page works in TikTok, YouTube, X, LinkedIn and Facebook profiles, in an email signature and behind a QR code on a flyer. Anywhere you can put one link, a link in bio page can stand in for many.
Do I need a paid tool for a link in bio?
Not necessarily. Several tools offer free link pages, and a website builder can publish one as a single page site. Paid plans usually add a custom domain, removal of branding and more analytics. Decide by whether you want the page on your own address.
How many links should a link in bio page have?
Five to eight is a good range. Each extra link makes every other one less likely to be tapped, and links below the first phone screen get far fewer taps. Put the newest or most important link first and remove anything that has ended.
Can I sell from a link in bio page?
Yes, if the page links to products in a store or the tool includes selling. Product links with thumbnails or photo tiles work well, because followers see what they will buy before tapping. Make sure checkout works inside in app browsers, where most taps happen.
Does a link in bio page help SEO?
A little: it is a real page that can show up when people search your name. It is thin by design, so it will not rank for much else. If search matters, grow it into a site with an about page and a page for each main offer.
