A Better Proposals alternative with AI drafting and pay links
Better Proposals starts you in a template library and sends the finished proposal as a tracked web document with a payment button. OneCraft Proposals starts from a brief or one of 18 templates, sends a tracked link to a paged proposal with a live pricing table, and turns acceptance into invoices with a Stripe pay link. The table below sets out where each one is stronger.
Updated , competitor details checked . Better Proposals is a trademark of its owner. OneCraft is not affiliated with or endorsed by it, and every cell below cites a public page or a source file.

The short verdict
Better Proposals suits a sales team that sends the same proposal shapes repeatedly from a governed library, takes direct debit or PayPal, and wants a custom domain and CRM sync. OneCraft suits a business that wants each proposal drafted from its own numbers, with optional extras the client can tick, acceptance with a certificate page and card payment into its own Stripe account.

Where Better Proposals is better
More ways to take the money
Payment integrations sit on every Better Proposals plan, with Stripe, GoCardless and PayPal named, so a client can pay by direct debit or PayPal as well as card. OneCraft takes cards through Stripe Checkout only, on paid plans, so a client who will not pay by card is better served there.
A template and content library
Saved templates are unlimited, a Content Library sits on every plan, and Enterprise adds content locking so approved wording cannot be edited. OneCraft has 18 starter templates and a duplicate action, which suits one writer and works against a team that must reuse controlled text.
Custom domain, CRM and shared editing
Premium adds a custom domain, CRM integrations, API access and Zapier, and Enterprise adds simultaneous editing and inline commenting. OneCraft proposals open on its own address, connect to no CRM and are edited by one person at a time.
Send limits you can plan around
Their plans state exactly how many documents go out a month, 10 on Starter, 50 on Premium and unlimited on Enterprise. OneCraft caps how many proposals an account holds instead, 3 on Free and 25 on Starter, and meters AI credits on top.
Where OneCraft is different
Drafted, not assembled
A brief with the client, the deliverables and the price hints becomes a whole proposal in one run, with the terms as numbered clauses and exactly one pricing table. A research step reads the client's website first, and a typed price is never changed.
The client shapes the quote
Optional extras arrive with a checkbox and editable quantities with a control held between limits, so the client picks the version they want. The totals, the deposit and the balance follow, and the acceptance keeps that exact selection.
Accepted means invoiced
Accepting creates the invoices at once, a deposit invoice due that day when a deposit is set, with a Stripe Checkout pay link. Invoices you send also get reminders on a gentle, standard or firm schedule. The activity page shows each step from first open to payment.
Not only proposals
The same account writes contracts, policies, reports and handbooks, and it also makes slide decks, flyers, forms and promo videos from one credit pool. The comparison here is narrow, but the account it sits in is not.

Better Proposals prices per user. On the pricing page checked 20 September 2026, Starter is $13 a month per user billed annually or $19 billed monthly and caps sending at 10 documents a month, Premium is $21 annually or $29 monthly with 50 documents, and Enterprise is $42 annually or $49 monthly with unlimited sending. OneCraft prices per account and meters AI credits: Free at $0 with 150 credits a month, Starter at $8, Pro at $25 and Pro Plus at $125, with proposals capped at 3 on Free and 25 on Starter. Two people sending proposals pay for two Better Proposals seats and one OneCraft account.
Moving across
Templates cannot migrate. The workable move is to take the substance of your best template, the sections, the scope and the line items, and put it into the generator brief and price hints, or start from the closest of the 18 starter templates and edit it. Signed documents should be downloaded from Better Proposals and archived, since a completed proposal and its signature record stay there.
What could not be checked
The sign proposals page describes documents as locked, secured and protected but does not name a signature standard, so the certification row says exactly that rather than assuming a profile. PDF export is not itemised on the pages that were fetched. Prices are shown in US dollars on the page as served and the annual figures are the lower ones, which is how the table reads them.
How the OneCraft side was verified
Each cell names a row in an internal ledger checked against the product's source code: the 8,000 character prompt cap, the 18 templates, the pricing table columns and item fields, the per link tracking, the acceptance certificate, the Stripe Connect pay link and the reminder presets. The absences are ledger entries as well.
Who should stay with Better Proposals
Stay with Better Proposals if clients pay by direct debit or PayPal, if a governed template and content library keeps a team on approved wording, or if a custom domain, CRM sync, Zapier and shared editing are part of the process. This page is for the business that wants each proposal drafted from its own numbers, accepted online and paid by card.
Questions people ask
Can a client pay a deposit when they accept?
Yes, by card. Acceptance creates an issued deposit invoice due the same day, and the accepted screen offers Pay deposit now, which opens Stripe Checkout and pays into the owner's connected Stripe account. Better Proposals also names GoCardless and PayPal, so a client who pays by direct debit is better served there. A free OneCraft account cannot take card payments.
Will I know when the client opens the proposal?
Yes. Each recipient's link is tracked separately, and the activity page shows the opens, the total time viewed and the outcome, with a notification the first time each link is opened. An open is counted once per link in any 30 minutes, so a client who reloads the page is not counted again and again.
Is there a template library?
There are 18 starter templates, twelve proposals and six quotes, and any proposal can be duplicated to start the next one with its pricing and items. There is no content library and no content locking, so a team that must reuse legally approved wording across many senders is better served by Better Proposals.
Do proposals expire?
Yes. Every proposal carries a valid until date, set from the validity days in the brief or changed in the Pricing panel, and a daily check moves a sent proposal past that date to expired. An expired proposal can no longer be accepted, so stale prices cannot be accepted by mistake; send a revised proposal instead.
What evidence does acceptance leave?
In click mode, a certificate page is added to the PDF with the signer's name and email, the time, the IP address, the browser, a hash of the content, the selected items with their total and the consent text. The accepted PDF with that page is emailed to you and the client.
Can two people edit a proposal at once?
No. One person edits at a time, and the AI chat inside the builder edits text and pricing, such as adding an item, setting the deposit or changing the tax rate, showing each change as a preview first. Better Proposals lists simultaneous editing and inline commenting on its Enterprise plan, which suits a team drafting together.
