Chimney sweep flyer for an autumn fireplace service in Bristol
A chimney sweep flyer has a deadline built in: people think about the flue on the first cold night, and by then the diary is full. These three designs for Flueworthy Sweeps, a fictional Bristol sweep, tell readers to book before the first frost, price the sweep at £65 and promise the certificate a home insurer asks for.
The 3 designs
The same business laid out three ways, on three templates and three colour themes. Every price, name and time on these was written for this example, so you can judge the layouts on real content rather than placeholder text.

The three designs
The frost design is the full flyer. A green header names the business, "Book before the first frost" fills the top third, the price and service area sit in two short lines, a photo of brick chimney pots on a slate roof runs across the page, and a dark panel lists what every visit includes. A booking strip and a footer with the phone and email finish it. Use it for a September letterbox drop. The stove design is a bold social post: a large headline on a warm background, a "Sweep from £65" button and a round photo of a lit wood burner with a "Cert included" badge. It has no slot for contact details, so post it with the phone number in the caption, or use it as the back of a business card sized handout. The price list design is the reference sheet on a navy page: three services with prices, three info blocks for phone, booking and area, and the HETAS line. Leave it with customers after a sweep so they rebook next year.
What this flyer must carry
A chimney sweep flyer needs the price of a standard sweep, what the visit includes, the certificate, the area covered, the booking method and the registration that shows the sweep is qualified. Flueworthy prints £65 for a sweep with a smoke draw test, a certificate for the insurer, the £95 stove check, the £120 CCTV survey, Bristol, Bath and North Somerset as the area, a phone number in the Ofcom range set aside for fiction and a fictional HETAS registration number. HETAS reports most UK sweeps charging between £60 and £85, so £65 sits at the lower end of a believable range. Bristol also has smoke control areas, where only approved appliances or authorised fuels can be burned, and a line offering to check a customer's stove against those rules adds a reason to book.
How to adapt this flyer
For a sweep who also installs stoves, use the frost design and change the checklist to survey, install and certificate, with the installation price from figure, because installs are booked in summer when sweeping is quiet. For a rural sweep covering farmhouses with several flues, use the price list design and add a per extra flue price. For a spring campaign, swap the headline on the stove design for "Swept before summer, ready for autumn" and offer the same price outside the busy season, when a sweep has more free days.
What makes these work
The season is the call to action
"Book before the first frost" is the headline on all three designs. It gives a reason to act now without inventing a fake sale, because every reader knows the cold is coming and that sweeps are busiest once it arrives. A seasonal deadline the reader already believes does more than a discount.
The certificate is sold as part of the sweep
The frost design lists "Certificate for your insurer" as one of three things included in every visit, and the stove design carries a "Cert included" badge. A sweep certificate is often what a home insurer asks for after a chimney fire, so naming it turns a chore into a piece of paper the reader needs.
Three services, three prices, no extras hidden
The price list design gives each service a line and a price: sweep £65, stove check £95, CCTV survey £120. A reader can see the cheapest way in and what the bigger jobs cost, and the registration line under the heading tells them who checks the work.
Questions people ask
How often should a chimney be swept in the UK?
Chimney sweeping bodies generally recommend at least once a year, and more often for wood burners used heavily through winter. The frost design says once a year, twice if you burn wood all winter. Your stove manufacturer and your home insurer may set their own requirements, so it is worth checking both and saying so on the flyer.
What should a chimney sweep certificate show?
It records that the flue was swept, the date, the appliance, the sweep's details and any findings, such as a blocked pot or a damaged liner. Home insurers and buyers' solicitors may ask to see one. A registered sweep issues it at the end of the visit, which is why the flyer lists the certificate as part of the £65 sweep.
Should a chimney sweep put a registration number on a flyer?
If you belong to a scheme such as HETAS, the Guild of Master Chimney Sweeps or NACS, print the membership or registration line. It is not a legal licence, but it tells a customer your work and certificates are recognised. Flueworthy uses a fictional HETAS number, 2041876, to show where a real line would go.
Which sizes do these chimney sweep designs come in?
All three designs are authored natively for every canvas size: A4 portrait and landscape, Instagram post and story, Facebook post, LinkedIn post, Facebook cover and Twitter header. Resizing swaps in the native layout for each size. The stove design reads best as an Instagram post, and the price list design as an A4 handout.
Can I show prices in pounds on these designs?
Yes. Every price is text that you type, so you can write £65 or any currency symbol. The fonts used here include the pound sign. If your business is VAT registered, show prices to consumers including VAT so the figure on the flyer is the figure they pay.
When should a chimney sweep send out flyers?
Late August to mid October, before the first cold snap, when people are thinking about the fire but have not lit it yet. A second drop in spring can fill quiet weeks with a price held over from autumn. Keep the same design for both drops so returning customers recognise it, and change only the headline and dates.

HVAC flyer example with a tune up offer and install prices
An HVAC flyer has to sell maintenance months before anyone feels the heat, which means the offer has to be cheap, specific and dated. These three designs for Larkspur Air Heating and Cooling, a fictional Denver company, sell a $79 AC tune up prepaid by Thursday, December 31, 2026 and print mini split installs from $2,400.
Pest control flyer with a termite inspection offer
A pest control flyer has a deadline built in: termites do the damage while nobody is looking, so the flyer has to give a reason to book this month. These three designs for Banksia Barrier Pest Solutions, a fictional Perth business, offer a $149 termite inspection until Saturday 31 October 2026 and print the general pest price beside it.
Gutter cleaning flyer with a flat rate and guard upgrade
A gutter cleaning flyer works when it arrives just before the reader starts worrying, and on the Central Coast that means the weeks before bushfire season. These three designs for Spoutwise Gutters, a fictional business, print one flat price per home, $180 for a single storey, and pair it with a reminder to clear gutters before the danger period.
