Clearance sale flyer
A clearance is not a sale with a bigger number on it. Sprocket & Pine has 31 bikes left from the 2025 range, most of them one or two per size, and nothing is being reordered. These three flyers all say that, but each one answers a different question: what is left, what each model now costs, and which bikes suit which rider.
The 3 designs
The same business laid out three ways, on three templates and three colour themes. Every price, name and time on these was written for this example, so you can judge the layouts on real content rather than placeholder text.

What makes these work
The poster answers how many, not just how much
Its three tabs are What is left, How low it goes and Before you buy, so the biggest fear in a clearance, that the bike in your size has already gone, is dealt with in the first paragraph. A design that only shouts a percentage leaves that question hanging until somebody drives across town.
Only the table names the sizes
Seven models, the old price, the clearance price, and in the widest column the sizes still on the floor: 56cm only, one M left, four left. That last column is the one people photograph, and it is the reason this design is the one that goes in the window rather than on Instagram.
The plain sheet sorts by rider, not by discount
Road, gravel and commuter, each with a from price and what is fitted. Somebody who knows they want a commuter never has to read the road bike rows at all, which is the opposite of how the table works, and why the two designs sit happily on the same page.
Questions people ask
Can a shop refuse returns on clearance stock?
Not on faults. Consumer guarantees apply to new, seconds and second hand goods alike, and the ACCC lists No refund on sale items and Exchange or credit note only on sale items as signs a business is not allowed to display. What a shop can refuse is a change of mind, and the wording the ACCC accepts is that no refunds will be given if you have simply changed your mind.
How much stock do you need before you can advertise a clearance price?
Enough to meet the demand the advertisement creates, or a clear statement of how little there is. Advertising a price you cannot supply in reasonable quantities is bait advertising. Naming the count, one M left, four left, is both the honest fix and the line that makes people hurry.
How is a clearance flyer different from a sale flyer?
A sale has an end date. A clearance has a stock condition, so the flyer gives a reason the stock is going, names what is left, and says nothing is being reordered. It is also the safest place to use a struck through price, because end of line stock genuinely carried that price all season.
How many rows fit in a price table on one A4 page?
Seven, at a size somebody can read holding the sheet at arm length. The table design here runs seven models across three columns and there is no room for an eighth without dropping the type below comfortable reading size. A longer list works better split by category, the way the third design does.

Fathers Day flyer
Three Fathers Day flyers for a Newcastle barbecue shop, all three carrying the date and a price. The poster puts the entry bundle and the biggest saving on the page, the grid photographs four gifts from $49 to $139 for everyone not buying a barbecue, and the third sheet lists what is inside each of the three bundles.
Back to school flyer
January is eleven working days long for a schoolwear shop and every one of them is spent measuring children. Wattlebank Schoolwear in Prospect advertises that fortnight three ways: a photo led sheet that tells families to book a fitting time and what happens at each year level, a checklist of the three things to bring so the visit takes twenty minutes, and a plain page that sets out the lay-by and exchange terms before anyone pays a deposit.
Furniture sale flyer
Halyard & Oak sells what is standing in its Geelong showroom and reorders none of it, so a four week floor stock sale has both a fixed end and a fixed count. The cover flyer pairs the showroom with the workshop and says that in one sentence. The sheet in the middle prints was, now and how many are left against three pieces. The third lifts six lines straight off the delivery docket, including the wall strap and the rule about measuring the hall.
