Graphic design quote
Graphic design quote for a brand identity and can labels
A graphic design quote should list each design deliverable, say how many concepts and rounds of changes are included, and state when copyright passes to the client. This example from a Perth studio quotes a logo, brand guidelines and three can labels for a small brewery at $6,150 plus GST, with labels priced per design.

What clients misunderstand about design quotes
A client buying a logo is buying a few hours of visible output and many hours of thinking they never see. A quote that just says Logo $3,000 invites the question of why it costs so much. This one breaks the work into a workshop, concepts, refinement and guidelines, and says how many concepts and change rounds are included. It prices the labels per design, which is how the work actually scales. And it adds a practical note: alcohol labels must carry certain statements under the food standards code, so the brewer confirms them before print. That note shows the studio has done packaging before, which matters more to a brewery than any portfolio piece.
How the price works
The workshop is $600, the logo $2,400 and the guidelines $1,200, and three labels at $650 add $1,950, for $6,150 before GST and $6,765 with it. With one label the subtotal is $4,850; with six it is $8,100. Stationery at $480 and merchandise artwork at $350 are optional and marked as suggestions. The 50% deposit is invoiced when the brewery accepts, and the balance when the final files are delivered. Further change rounds are not in the table because they may never be needed; clause 2 gives them a rate so they are not a surprise.
How to adapt this quote
List every deliverable with a number: concepts, rounds, pages, labels, sizes. Price repeatable work per item so the client can scale it. Say what file formats arrive at the end. Put the copyright transfer in the terms, and decide whether unchosen concepts stay yours. If you design packaging for a regulated product, such as food, alcohol or cosmetics, remind the client that the legal wording is their responsibility and should be checked against the relevant code before print. If your client is a consumer rather than a business, switch the quote to prices including GST.
What makes this quote work
Concepts and rounds are counted
The logo line promises three concepts and two rounds of changes on the chosen one, labels get one round each, and clause 2 prices further rounds at $110 an hour. Design quotes go wrong when the number of revisions is left open; this one closes it.
Labels scale with the range
Can labels are $650 each with three as the default, editable from one to six. The brewery can see the price of adding a fourth beer before it is brewed, and the studio is paid fairly for every label it designs.
Copyright passes on payment
Clause 3 transfers copyright in the final logo, guidelines and labels on payment, and keeps unchosen concepts with the studio. A business building a brand on a logo needs to own it, and the clause says when that happens.
Questions people ask
What should a graphic design quote include?
Each deliverable with a number: concepts, rounds of changes, pages, sizes or designs; the file formats; a timeline; extras; the price and GST; deposit and balance; an hourly rate for extra rounds; and when copyright passes to the client. This example covers each on three A4 pages for a brewery brand.
How much does a logo and brand identity cost?
It varies with the designer and the depth of the work. This example prices a workshop at $600, a logo with three concepts at $2,400 and 12 pages of brand guidelines at $1,200, so $4,200 before GST for the identity, plus $650 for each can label.
How many revisions should a design quote include?
State a number. This quote includes two rounds of changes on the chosen logo and one on each label, and charges further rounds at $110 an hour, agreed before the work. Without a number, revisions can go on until the project loses money and the relationship sours.
Who owns the copyright in a logo?
The designer, unless the agreement transfers it. This quote transfers copyright in the final logo, guidelines and labels to the client on payment, and keeps unchosen concepts with the studio. A business should always get the copyright in its logo in writing.
Should label design include checking the label wording?
The designer can check layout against the printer's template, but the legal wording is the producer's responsibility. This quote sends every label as a proof and notes that alcohol labels must meet the food standards code, so the brewer confirms the required statements before anything is printed.

Videography quote for a brand film and social cut downs
A videography quote should break the job into planning, filming and editing, say what files the client receives and how they may use them, and price extras separately. This example from an Adelaide production company quotes a two minute bakery film and three social cut downs at $6,370 plus GST, with drone footage and captions as options.
Wedding photography quote with adjustable hours and extras
A wedding photography quote should say how many hours are covered, what the couple receives and when, and what happens to the date if they wait. This example from a Yarra Valley photographer prices eight hours and a 600 image gallery at $4,500 including GST, lets the couple set the hours from six to ten, and holds the date with a fixed booking fee.
Catering quote example priced per guest
A catering quote should price the food per guest, show staff and equipment as their own lines, and set the date final numbers are due. This example from a Sydney caterer prices a 60 guest garden party at $6,740 including GST, with the guest count adjustable from 40 to 80 and two extras the host can add.
