Videography quote
Videography quote for a brand film and social cut downs
A videography quote should break the job into planning, filming and editing, say what files the client receives and how they may use them, and price extras separately. This example from an Adelaide production company quotes a two minute bakery film and three social cut downs at $6,370 plus GST, with drone footage and captions as options.

What a client needs to see in a video quote
Most clients have never bought video, so a single total tells them nothing. This quote shows the three stages of any shoot with their own prices: planning, filming and editing. It names the crew and the locations, says the film is two minutes and the cut downs are vertical, and lists what files arrive at the end. It also covers the two things clients rarely think about until it is too late: people appearing on camera, handled with release forms in the note, and where the video may be used, handled in clause 4. A client who understands the quote is a client who does not ask for a discount.
How the price is built
Pre production at $850, the filming day at $2,600, editing at $1,900, three cut downs at $280 and the music licence at $180 add to $6,370 before GST, $7,007 with it. Cut downs are editable from one to six, so the total ranges from $5,810 to $7,210 before GST. Drone footage at $650 and captions at $220 are optional and marked as suggestions. The drone line has a weather condition in clause 3: if it cannot be flown, it comes off the invoice, which is simpler for the client than a refund. The 50% deposit books the filming day, which is the cost the company commits to first.
How to adapt this quote
Keep the three stages, and price your crew day by the people on it. Count the deliverables: length of the main film, number and length of cut downs, aspect ratios. Price music as its own line and say how long and where the licence allows use. If you fly a drone commercially, make sure your operation is covered by the Civil Aviation Safety Authority rules and say the footage depends on weather and airspace. If the shoot involves customers or staff, bring release forms, and think about privacy if the business handles personal information on camera.
What makes this quote work
Planning, filming and editing are separate
Pre production is $850, the filming day $2,600 and editing $1,900. A client comparing quotes can see whether a cheaper one has skipped the planning, which is usually where a brand film is won or lost.
Cut downs are counted
Social cut downs are $280 each with three as the default and an editable range of one to six. Clients often want more versions once they see the film; this quote shows the price of each one before they ask.
Usage is in writing
Clause 4 says the client may use the film online for five years under the music licence, and the music licence is its own $180 line. Licensing is what catches clients out when a video goes into an advertisement years later.
Questions people ask
What should a videography quote include?
The purpose and length of the video, the cut downs and formats, the crew and filming time, locations, pre production and editing, change rounds, music licensing, what files are delivered, how the video may be used, extras such as drone or captions, payment terms and validity. This example covers each on three pages.
How much does a brand video cost?
It depends on the planning, crew, filming time and editing. This example quotes $6,370 plus GST for a two minute film and three social cut downs from one filming day with a two person crew, including a music licence. Adding drone footage and captions brings it to $7,240 before GST.
Should music licensing be in a video quote?
Yes, as its own line. This quote includes a $180 licence for a track for online use for five years, and clause 4 ties the client's use of the film to that licence. Music used without the right licence can get a video taken down or create a claim later.
Who owns the raw footage from a video shoot?
It depends on the agreement. In this quote the client receives the finished film and cut downs, while raw footage stays with the production company and is kept for 12 months. If a client wants the raw footage, price it as an extra and say so in the terms.
Can the client order more social cut downs later?
Before accepting, the client sets one to six cut downs on the online quote and the total updates. After the shoot, extra cut downs can be quoted at the same $280 rate, since they come from footage already filmed. Pricing them per item makes the conversation easy.

Copywriting quote for website copy, priced per page
A copywriting quote should price each page or piece separately, say how many rounds of changes are included, and state who owns the words. This example from a Canberra copywriter quotes a small architecture practice's website at $4,390 plus GST, with case studies priced per project so the practice can decide how many to publish.
Wedding photography quote with adjustable hours and extras
A wedding photography quote should say how many hours are covered, what the couple receives and when, and what happens to the date if they wait. This example from a Yarra Valley photographer prices eight hours and a 600 image gallery at $4,500 including GST, lets the couple set the hours from six to ten, and holds the date with a fixed booking fee.
Graphic design quote for a brand identity and can labels
A graphic design quote should list each design deliverable, say how many concepts and rounds of changes are included, and state when copyright passes to the client. This example from a Perth studio quotes a logo, brand guidelines and three can labels for a small brewery at $6,150 plus GST, with labels priced per design.
