Convert a PDF to an editable document
The words in a PDF are already chosen, so this is not a rewrite. The job is to read the structure out of the file and rebuild it as blocks you can edit, restyle and export again.
It reproduces, it does not rewrite
When a file is attached the extracted text becomes the source of truth. The same sections in the same order, the same headings, the same wording, the same tables and numbering. Sections are not invented, dropped or summarised, and the document is not restyled into a different kind of document. What is being decided is layout, structure and theme, not authorship.
What carries over cleanly
Headings and their hierarchy, paragraphs, lists, tables with their columns, and numbered clauses with their sub-numbering. A digitally produced PDF carries its text as text, so there is nothing to guess: this is the highest fidelity input the converter takes.
What changes shape on purpose
A run of label and value pairs becomes a key values block rather than a paragraph. A schedule becomes a timeline. A list of stages becomes a diagram where the source clearly described a process. Those are improvements rather than losses, and if you want the original shape kept, say so in the prompt.
What you should expect to redo
Page furniture that was baked into the old file: running headers, footers, page numbers and any cover. Those are rebuilt as real document furniture rather than copied, so check them once. Anything that was an image in the source stays an image, so a diagram drawn as a picture does not become an editable diagram.

Limits worth knowing
- Attaching a file is a paid plan feature, capped at 5 files of 10 MB each.
- A scanned PDF is an image, so it behaves like a photograph rather than text.
- Anything that was a picture in the source stays a picture.
- Exact visual fidelity is not the goal; the structure and wording are.

Questions people ask
Will the rebuilt document look identical to my PDF?
No, and it is not trying to. It reproduces the structure and the wording, then lays them out in a theme you can change. If you need the original look exactly, keep the original file.
Does it summarise long sections?
No. When a file is attached the words are the source of truth, so nothing is condensed, dropped or invented.
What about a scanned PDF?
A scan is an image in a PDF wrapper, so it is read like a photograph, with the accuracy that implies. Use the exported file if you still have it.
