The discount is the headline

Forty per cent off suiting sits at the top of the poster at the largest size on the page. Boxing Day shoppers are choosing which shop to queue at, and a flyer that leads with the doors opening at nine has already lost them.

Old price beside new price, three times

The third sheet shows $1,290 becoming $774, $1,690 becoming $1,014 and $2,150 becoming $1,290. A percentage is a claim, and two numbers next to each other are a fact the reader can check at the counter.

The exclusions are printed, not hidden

Made to measure, cloth appointments and anything already on order stay at the usual price, and that appears on all three sheets. Under Australian Consumer Law a was and now claim has to be true, and printing the exclusions is how you keep it true.

Questions people ask

When is Boxing Day 2026, and is the Monday a holiday too?

Boxing Day 2026 is Saturday 26 December. Because it lands on a weekend, Monday 28 December is an additional public holiday in every state and territory except Tasmania, which observes Boxing Day on the Monday instead. South Australia calls the 26th Proclamation Day. That is why the flyers here name both dates.

Can a shop trade on Boxing Day anywhere in Australia?

The rules differ by state, which is exactly why a national flyer needs a per store hours table. Victoria places no restriction on the day at all. New South Wales lists it as a restricted trading day but allows any shop to open where staff freely elect to work. South Australia caps non exempt shops in the metropolitan shopping district to nine until five, and keeps some proclaimed districts closed altogether.

What goes on a Boxing Day flyer besides the reductions?

The door time, the closing time, the second trading day if there is one, and how the queue is managed. Add whether the prices continue past the day, because most Boxing Day sales run for a week and customers assume they do not. If the offer is one store only, print that too rather than leaving it to be assumed.

Should the whole range be named or just the headline department?

Name each department with its own reduction. A single up to figure sends everybody to the one floor that carries it and disappoints the rest. The quadrant design exists for that reason: four departments, four different reductions, and enough space under each to say which sizes are actually left.
