Fathers Day flyer
Three Fathers Day flyers for a Newcastle barbecue shop, all three carrying the date and a price. The poster puts the entry bundle and the biggest saving on the page, the grid photographs four gifts from $49 to $139 for everyone not buying a barbecue, and the third sheet lists what is inside each of the three bundles.
The 3 designs
The same business laid out three ways, on three templates and three colour themes. Every price, name and time on these was written for this example, so you can judge the layouts on real content rather than placeholder text.

What makes these work
Three price points, not one
The bundles start at $389 and the gift sheet starts at $49. A Fathers Day shopper has a number in mind before they walk in, and a shop that only advertises its expensive end loses everyone below it.
The saving is stated against the price
The Weekender saves $74, the Low and Slow saves $146, the Four Burner saves $211. Under Australian Consumer Law a saving claim has to be against a price the item was actually sold at, and printing both numbers is what makes it checkable.
The third flyer sells by ruling things out
Five minutes to cook on gas, twenty five on charcoal, ninety on a smoker. Naming what each one costs in time is the fastest way to stop somebody buying the smoker for a person who wanted the gas.
Questions people ask
When is Fathers Day in Australia?
The first Sunday in September, which is 6 September in 2026 and 5 September in 2027. It is not a public holiday, so trading hours are normal Sunday hours and the flyer should print them rather than assume. Most of the buying happens on the Saturday afternoon.
What are the rules on gift cards?
A gift card sold on or after 1 November 2019 has to stay redeemable for at least three years, and the expiry date or the period plus the issue date has to be displayed on it. Post purchase fees are banned, so no activation, account keeping, balance enquiry or inactivity charges. Ordinary payment surcharges and booking fees are still allowed.
What should a barbecue flyer say about the gas bottle?
Say that a cylinder should not be used or refilled if a licensed gasfitter has not tested it within ten years, that every connection should be tested with soapy water each time it is fitted, and that the grill needs a metre of clearance from a wall or fence. Swap and go will take an out of test bottle, but nobody will refill one.
Can a bundle be advertised as a saving?
Yes, if the components genuinely sold separately at those prices. A saving claim is misleading where the item has never been sold at the higher figure, or was sold at it only briefly right before the offer. Intent does not matter, so keep the separate price list that backs the number up.

Black Friday flyer
Black Friday 2026 lands on Friday 27 November, and Cairn & Creek is running it as a four day event closing on Monday 30 November. The discount is the easy part. The hard part is fitting the opening hour, the online code, the quantity on the deepest tier and the things left out onto one page without burying any of them. These three designs each answer that differently.
Grand opening flyer
One new hardware shop, Rowan & Sons on Mercer Street, and three flyers for three jobs. The date poster goes in the window weeks out and says Saturday 6 September, from 8am, with free coffee, ten percent off all weekend and a bench where the staff sharpen your tools. The offer sheet sits by the till and prices one product, the 5 litre cast iron pot at $119, usually $149, for the opening weekend only. The photo invitation goes to the mailing list and the neighbours, with coffee from eight and the ribbon at nine.
Fashion sale flyer
Marlow & Fern takes thirty per cent off its autumn and winter racks for a fortnight and then stops, so the flyers have fourteen days to say who the sale is for and what a reduced ticket actually means. The first is an editorial poster with the dates, the four categories that are reduced and the two that are not. The second is about the fitting room rather than the discount. The third prints the shop’s returns position beside the part of it that is law rather than policy.
