Pharmacy flyer for flu shots, scripts and medication packs
A pharmacy flyer is read by people who already have a reason to come in, so it should answer the practical questions: do I need to book, what does it cost, and when are you open. These three designs for Mortarwood Compounding Pharmacy, a fictional chemist on Macquarie Street in Dubbo NSW, say flu shots are walk in, free for people eligible under the National Immunisation Program and $25 for everyone else, and list weekly medication packs, free delivery within 10 km, compounding and the opening hours.
The 3 designs
The same business laid out three ways, on three templates and three colour themes. Every price, name and time on these was written for this example, so you can judge the layouts on real content rather than placeholder text.

The three designs
The flu shots design has a green header reading "FLU SHOTS NOW", a large "WALK IN, NO APPOINTMENT" headline, the days and address beside clock and pin icons, a wide photo inside the shop and a dark panel listing COVID-19 and whooping cough vaccines, medication packs and delivery. Put it in the window and on the counter. The services design leads with a photo of a pharmacist at the counter, "Flu shots now, walk in, no booking", a banner reading "Scripts, medication packs and compounding, all under one roof" and three service cards. It suits letterboxes in the delivery zone and aged care noticeboards. The opening hours design is light and airy: a photo of syringes on blue, the headline, three chips for address, delivery and compounding, and a day by day hours schedule.
What this flyer must carry
Which vaccinations you give, who is eligible for free vaccines and what everyone else pays, whether bookings are needed, your hours, the services that keep people coming back such as medication packs and delivery, and the address. Two sets of rules apply. Pharmacists are registered with the Pharmacy Board of Australia through AHPRA, so the health practitioner advertising guidelines apply: no testimonials and clear terms on any offer. And the TGA restricts advertising of prescription medicines, including vaccines, to the public: a flyer may say a vaccination service is available, but must not name or picture a brand of vaccine. Medication packs are often called by a trademarked product name; describing them as "weekly medication packs" avoids using someone else's brand.
How to adapt this flyer
For a pharmacy in a holiday area, swap the delivery line for travel vaccinations and a "see us six weeks before you fly" note. For a pharmacy with a sleep apnoea or blood pressure service, replace compounding with that service and its price. For the autumn flu season launch, change the hours rows to your clinic sessions and add the dates the season's vaccine arrives, still without naming the brand.
What makes these work
Free and paid are both stated
Each design says the flu shot is free for people eligible under the National Immunisation Program and $25 for everyone else. People over 65, pregnant people, young children and First Nations people should not pay; everyone else wants the price. One line answers both groups, and the flu design adds "Bring your Medicare card".
The hours table is a schedule, not a footnote
The opening hours design uses its six row schedule for each day: weekday hours with flu shots until 6:30pm, Saturday until 4:30pm, Sunday scripts only and no vaccinations. A pharmacy flyer is often kept on the fridge, and a reader checking whether they can walk in on Sunday gets a straight answer.
No vaccine brand anywhere
The vaccines are named by disease: flu, COVID-19 and whooping cough. Vaccines are prescription medicines, and the TGA only lets pharmacies advertise that a vaccination service is available if the advert does not name or show a vaccine brand. These designs sell the service and leave the product choice to the pharmacist.
Questions people ask
Can a pharmacy flyer name the flu vaccine brand?
No. Vaccines are prescription medicines, and the TGA permits pharmacies to tell the public a vaccination service is available only if the advert does not name or show a vaccine brand. Say "flu vaccinations available" and leave the product to the pharmacist. Government public health campaign material can be displayed in full and unchanged.
Who gets a free flu vaccine in Australia?
Under the National Immunisation Program the flu vaccine is free for people aged 65 and over, children from 6 months to under 5 years, pregnant people, First Nations people from 6 months, and people with certain medical conditions. Some states fund extra groups. A pharmacy can still charge an administration fee, so say clearly if your shot is free for eligible people.
Should the flyer show prices for medication packs?
Yes, if you charge for them. Weekly packs are a recurring cost, and families comparing pharmacies for an older parent want the number. Mortarwood prints $6 a week. If the price is different for concession card holders or aged care residents, add a second line rather than leaving people to ask.
Is a delivery radius worth printing?
Print it in kilometres or suburbs, whichever your customers think in. "Free delivery within 10 km" lets someone on the edge of town work out whether they qualify. Add the delivery days and a cut off time for same day delivery if you have one, because most delivery questions are about timing, not cost.
Which of these designs works as a Facebook post?
The flu shots design, because its headline is short and the "walk in, no appointment" message reads at small sizes. Each design has a native Facebook Post layout at 1200 by 630 pixels, plus Instagram Post and Story, LinkedIn Post, Facebook Cover, Twitter Header and A4 Landscape. Post it the week your stock arrives.

Optometrist flyer for bulk billed eye tests and a frames offer
An optometrist flyer competes with chain stores on two promises, a free eye test and a cheap second pair, so it has to say exactly when the test is bulk billed and exactly what the second pair offer covers. These three designs for Lenscane Optometry, a fictional practice on Victoria Street in Mackay QLD, print bulk billed tests for Medicare card holders, second pair half price with its conditions, children seen from age 3, contact lens fitting from $90 and HICAPS claims.
Skin clinic flyer with a full body skin check offer
A skin clinic flyer turns a check people keep putting off into a booking by naming the price, the rebate and how long it takes. These three designs for Torrensbark Skin Clinic, a fictional practice in Unley, Adelaide SA, print a $120 full body skin check with the $87.10 Medicare rebate and $32.90 gap, mole mapping for $180, the usual two week wait, what to bring, and that the checks are done by GPs with further training in skin cancer medicine.
Physiotherapy flyer with session prices and the conditions treated
A physiotherapy flyer has to tell someone with a sore back three things before they put it down: that this clinic treats their problem, what the first visit costs, and that they can book without a GP referral. These three designs for Tendonbrook Physio, a fictional clinic in Parramatta NSW, print an initial assessment at $110, follow ups at $85, HICAPS claiming on the spot and the conditions the physios treat.
