Jewellery online store example for a handmade studio
People buy handmade jewellery when they trust the metal and the fit. This example for an invented Fremantle studio offers each piece in sterling silver or gold vermeil, explains what vermeil means, gives a ring sizing method and promises one free resize, all before the checkout.

The home page
A full photo hero, a grid of eight new pieces with quick add on single variant items, a photo and story section about the bench, a side heading FAQ on sizing, vermeil and delivery, and a newsletter band. The menu links to the four collections, each of which gets its own page when the store publishes.
Made to order items
Rings here are made in your size within two weeks. Stock can be tracked per variant or left untracked; a made to order piece is best untracked so it never shows as sold out, with the lead time stated in the description and the FAQ.
What makes this website work
Metal as an option on every piece
Every ring, earring and necklace has a Metal option with sterling silver and gold vermeil at different prices. Buyers choose the design first and then match it to the jewellery they already wear, and the variant select lets them.
Sizing explained before it is a problem
The FAQ gives a paper strip method for ring size and a free first resize. Fit is the biggest worry with rings bought online, so the store removes it in two sentences.
A dark, quiet hero
A full photo of stacked gold rings with the copy in the corner, Libre Bodoni headings and square edges on the Graphite palette. Jewellery photographs best on dark, quiet backgrounds, and the site keeps out of the way of the pieces.
Questions people ask
How do I sell the same ring in two metals?
Add an option named Metal with two values. Each becomes a variant with its own price, here $165 for silver and $215 for vermeil, its own SKU and stock. The product card shows the lower price as from, and the product page has a metal select.
Can I sell rings in sizes as well?
Yes. A product can have up to three options, such as Metal and Size, and up to 100 variants. For made to order rings, many studios ask for the size in the order notes instead, which the checkout can collect when notes are switched on in the store settings.
Why do some cards show Add and others not?
The quick Add button appears on products with a single variant, such as the polishing cloth and cuff. Products with options open their page so the shopper picks the metal first, which avoids adding the wrong variant to the cart.
Can I take payment in Australian dollars?
The store charges in your connected Stripe account's currency, so an Australian account sells in AUD and prices show as A$. Prices are entered in cents in the store admin. Stripe Checkout handles cards, Apple Pay and Google Pay, and the payout lands in your own account.
How do I explain gold vermeil to buyers?
Say what it is in one sentence, a thick layer of gold over sterling silver, and how to care for it. This example answers it in the FAQ and repeats the care line on the card in every order. Avoid calling vermeil solid gold or gold filled, which are different things.

Candles are bought on scent and gifted on presentation, so a candle shop has to describe smell in words and show the jar beautifully. This example for an invented Byron Bay maker sells four scents in two sizes, a diffuser, wax melts and a gift box, with care advice and free shipping over $90.
Skincare online store example with fragrance free options
Skincare shoppers with sensitive skin read labels before they read headlines. This example for an invented Adelaide brand puts a fragrance free variant on every face product, keeps the range to the three products most people need, and answers shelf life, patch testing and returns in the FAQ.
Tea online store example with a brewing guide
Loose leaf tea is bought by people who care how it is made, and they want to know how to brew it. This example for an invented Collingwood tea merchant sells six teas in two pouch sizes across four collections and puts a brewing guide, with water temperature and steeping time, on the home page.
