Bookkeeping flyer with monthly packages for sole traders
A bookkeeping flyer has to show a sole trader what a month of tidy books costs and prove that the person lodging the BAS is allowed to. These three designs for Tallyburn Bookkeeping, a fictional bookkeeper in Bendigo VIC, price three packages by transaction volume from $180 a month, print the registered BAS agent number and offer the first month at half price.
The 3 designs
The same business laid out three ways, on three templates and three colour themes. Every price, name and time on these was written for this example, so you can judge the layouts on real content rather than placeholder text.

The three designs
The packages design is the workhorse. Four coloured cards hold Starter, Growing, Busy and the payroll add on, each with its monthly price and what it covers, and a strip underneath carries the half price first month, the Xero and MYOB line and who the service suits. Use it in a letterbox drop or pinned at the local business centre, where a reader wants the whole price list at once. The steps design answers the other worry, which is how painful it is to switch. A radial diagram walks through catch up, connect, reconcile and lodge, so an owner who has fallen behind sees that the first job is getting last quarter straight. It suits a LinkedIn post aimed at tradies and shop owners in the run up to a BAS due date. The offer design is the softest: a photo of reports and a calculator on a desk, "First month half price." in large type, and the three prices in a row. Hand it out at networking breakfasts or leave it on the counter of a friendly accountant.
What this flyer must carry
A bookkeeping flyer for sole traders needs four things. First, a monthly price a reader can match to their own business, which here is transactions per month. Second, the software, because a Xero user will not switch to a bookkeeper who only works in MYOB. Third, the BAS agent registration, since the Tax Practitioners Board registers BAS agents and a bookkeeper who is not registered cannot lodge a BAS for a fee. Fourth, one clear way to call, which every design puts in its footer as 03 5550 2814. Prices on an Australian flyer to consumers and small businesses should include GST, and these do. If the bookkeeper also does payroll, say what a pay run costs and that it goes through Single Touch Payroll, because that is the job owners most want off their plate.
How to adapt this flyer
For a bookkeeper who works with trades, swap the Growing card for a job costing package and put "invoices sent from the van" in its body. For a practice that targets cafes and retail, price by staff numbers rather than transactions, since payroll is the heavier work there, and move the payroll card to first place. For a quarter end campaign, keep the steps design and put the next BAS due date for the quarter into the eyebrow, checked against the ATO lodgment calendar. Whatever changes, keep the BAS agent number visible on every size.
What makes these work
The price follows the workload
The package grid names each tier by transactions, not by vague labels: up to 50 a month is $180, up to 150 is $320, up to 400 is $520. A sole trader can count last month's bank lines and pick a box without phoning first, which is the question every bookkeeping enquiry starts with.
The BAS agent number is in the footer of every design
BAS agent no. 94812037 sits in the dark brand bar of the grid, inside the fourth step of the switching design and in the contact row of the photo design. Only a registered BAS agent may charge to prepare and lodge a BAS, so the number is the proof the reader is looking for.
The half price month is worked out on the page
Instead of a percentage badge, the info row says "Starter $90, Busy $260", which is exactly half of $180 and $520. A reader sees the real first invoice, and the offer cannot be misread as half price forever.
Questions people ask
Can a bookkeeper who is not a registered BAS agent advertise BAS services?
Not for a fee. Under the Tax Agent Services Act, preparing or lodging a BAS for payment is a BAS service, and only a registered BAS or tax agent may provide it. An unregistered bookkeeper can advertise data entry and reconciliation, but should say the BAS is lodged by a registered agent they work with. Printing your own registration number, which anyone can look up on the TPB register, removes the doubt.
Should bookkeeping prices on a flyer be monthly or hourly?
Monthly, for sole traders. An hourly rate makes the owner guess how long their mess will take, while a monthly package tied to something they can count, such as bank transactions, lets them pick a tier before calling. Keep an hourly rate for catch up work and say so in small print, so nobody thinks the package covers two years of shoebox receipts.
Is the payroll add on worth printing on the same flyer?
Yes, if it has a fixed price. Tallyburn prints $25 a pay run for up to five staff, and the payroll card sits in the same grid as the three packages, so an employer sees the total monthly cost in one place. A separate payroll flyer only makes sense when payroll is most of the work, such as for a hospitality bookkeeper.
Which sizes can these bookkeeping designs be posted at?
Each design is authored for A4 portrait plus A4 landscape, Instagram post and story, Facebook post, LinkedIn post, Facebook cover and Twitter header. The LinkedIn post uses the same 1200 pixel wide layout as the Facebook post, which suits a bookkeeper who finds clients through local business groups. Changing size swaps in the layout made for it rather than stretching the A4 page.
Where do bookkeeping flyers get the best response?
Where owners already think about paperwork: the counter of a business supplies shop, a chamber of commerce breakfast, a co working space noticeboard and the waiting room of an accountant who does not offer bookkeeping. A letterbox drop to homes reaches few sole traders, so if you letterbox, choose streets with home based businesses and respect every no junk mail sign.
Can the A4 version go straight to a print shop?
The A4 page is built at 1240 by 1754 pixels and exports at twice that, 2480 by 3508, which is A4 at 300 DPI, as a PDF, PNG or JPG. The export is RGB with no bleed or crop marks, so ask the printer to scale it slightly or keep a white margin, and check the dark footer bar prints evenly.

Law firm flyer for fixed fee conveyancing and wills
A law firm flyer works when it turns a frightening unknown, the legal bill, into a number printed beside the service. These three designs for Quillmere Legal, a fictional practice in Sydney NSW, put purchase conveyancing at $1,100 fixed, wills from $350 and a free 30 minute first consultation on the page, with the Law Society membership line where a careful reader looks for it.
Notary flyer example with mobile fees and documents
A notary flyer has to say where the notary will go, what each signature costs and what to bring, and in Arizona it must also say what a notary is not allowed to do. These three designs for Saguarink Mobile Notary, a fictional mobile notary in Phoenix, Arizona, promise visits 7 days a week, charge $10 per notarial act, set out travel zones, list the documents handled and carry the statutory notice that the notary is not an attorney.
IT support flyer with per user managed service pricing
An IT support flyer for small businesses sells predictability: one price per person, a promise about how fast someone answers, and the jobs that are included so nobody fears a surprise invoice. These three designs for Kowhaiwire IT, a fictional managed service provider in Auckland, price unlimited support at $89 per user a month plus GST, print a response time table and list backups, security, Microsoft 365 moves and 24/7 monitoring.
