Engineering and computing research poster examples, in full
In these fields the rig, the dataset or the specimen is the argument, and a reader wants it before the result. Each board here is a whole A0 poster with its setup, its comparison and its numbers written out.

The setup does the persuading
Seven boards, and each one leads with what was built or measured. The robotics board names the rig, the sensors, the run count and the three obstacle densities before it shows a replanning time. The civil engineering board names the beam specimens, the mixes and the loading rig, then reports first crack and ultimate load together. The electrical engineering board reports conversion loss across five load points for three firmware versions. The cybersecurity board is a phishing trial with the population, the waves and what counted as a click. The data science board compares four churn models and the hand written rules they would replace, all scored on one test set. The architecture and urban planning boards are field measurement, daylight and glare hours in classrooms and a footpath audit across suburbs.
Comparisons, tables and what the block allows
A comparison here is usually a table, and the table block holds three columns, so the data science board puts its five scorers in rows rather than columns. Reference blocks hold between three and five entries depending on the design, so each board cites the few sources that carry the claim rather than a long list. Checked lists hold exactly four points, which is why every board's limitations or implications run to four. These are the constraints that decide how a board is laid out, so it is worth choosing a design by the blocks it has rather than by how it looks at thumbnail size.
Reading a board whose headings are fixed
Some block headings belong to the design rather than the study, so a flow diagram is headed participant flow even when the items flowing through it are concrete beams or classrooms, and a progress block is headed by arm even when the rows are firmware versions. Every node and row label on these boards names what it really is for that reason. Two of the seven are Australian and name Australian settings. Every study, institution and author is invented, so copy the order and the density and bring your own data.

- Architecture research poster example
An architecture poster that reports a measured building has to open with the question, because the reader has to know what was being compared before the photographs they expect fail to appear. This board puts the question in a title panel down the left, then walks 24 classrooms, three window designs and twelve months of readings across the remaining columns.
- Biomedical engineering research poster example
A biomedical engineering research poster for a device test is an agreement study: how close is the new sensor to the reference, and where does it fail. This A0 landscape board tests a wearable heart rate patch in 40 volunteers, 72,000 paired readings, with a hero line chart of error by activity and the patch within 5 bpm on 96% of exercise readings.
- Civil engineering research poster example
A structures poster has to make a reader trust twelve specimens, which means the casting, the rejections and the failure mode all belong on the board. This one runs seven narrow columns across A0 landscape, from abstract to references, with the specimen flow and the load results in the middle where a reviewer will look first.
- Cybersecurity research poster example
A phishing study poster is usually read from its numbers down, so this board opens with four of them across the top: 3,200 staff, two campaigns, a click rate that fell from 18.4% to 9.1%, and a report rate that rose from 12% to 31%. Everything under the strip explains how those four were produced.
- Data science research poster example
A model comparison poster is read as a table first, because the ranking is the finding. This board puts five scorers in one table, the rules list currently in use and four models, all measured on the same held out set of 25,200 subscribers, and leads with precision in the top decile rather than with accuracy.
- Electrical engineering research poster example
A bench test poster is only useful if the reader can see the whole curve, not the peak. This board runs one 5 kW inverter across five load points on three firmware versions, plots conversion loss rather than efficiency so the differences are visible, and shows that the same 0.9 point gain holds at 30% of rated load, where a rooftop array actually sits.
- Renewable energy research poster example
A renewable energy research poster earns its place when it tests a number people rely on. This Australian A0 landscape board checks the design model behind rooftop solar quotes against a year of meter data from 220 systems, and finds the model overstates yield by 3.1% overall and by 7% on south facing roofs.
- Robotics research poster example
A robotics poster has to show the method as a sequence before it shows a result, because the result only means something once the reader knows what the robot does at each step. This board runs map, plan, detect, replan and execute across the top as a five stage chain, then gives run times at three obstacle densities underneath.
- Software engineering research poster example
A software engineering research poster has to make a mined dataset readable from two metres away. This A0 landscape board does it for code review: 41,000 pull requests in 14 open source repositories, with the median wait for a first review falling from 31 hours to 22 over three years, shown as a four point timeline across the top.
- Urban planning research poster example
A walkability poster that reports a suburb score is reporting at the level where nothing can be fixed. This board works at the segment instead: 180 block faces across six Australian suburbs, scored on 22 items by two auditors, with 76 segments named as lacking a continuous footpath.
Build a poster from your own study
Paste what your study did and found, pick A0 portrait or landscape, and the generator writes every section and fills the charts and the participant flow from your numbers.
Make a posterStep by step in the builder: pick an A0 board and a theme, then fill the figure and table blocks. For everything the generator can do, see the poster maker.
