Turn a list of questions into a form
If your form already exists as a list in a document, an email or a spreadsheet, you do not need to describe it. Paste the questions and each line becomes a field with a type, options where you listed them, and a required flag.
How a line becomes a field
The wording of the question decides the type. A line ending in a date word becomes a date picker, a line asking for an address becomes an address field, a line asking how many becomes a number field. Anything open ended and long becomes a long text box rather than a single line, which matters more than it sounds: a one line box tells people to be brief whether you meant that or not.
How choices are read
Options in brackets or after a colon, separated by commas or slashes, are split into real options and used exactly as you wrote them. Two or three options become radio buttons, longer lists become a dropdown. If several answers can apply, say so on the line, because a list on its own reads as single choice.
Marking what is optional
Writing "(optional)" at the end of a line is respected, and it is worth doing for every field that really is optional. Everything else is treated as required, which is the safer default. Getting this right in the paste saves going through the field list afterwards.
Moving from another form tool
This is the fastest route off another builder when you cannot export cleanly. Copy the question list out of the old form, paste it in, then rebuild only the parts a plain list cannot carry: file uploads, tables, signatures and any conditional logic. Those are quick to add and they are the parts worth thinking about again anyway.

Limits worth knowing
- The prompt box takes 8,000 characters, which is roughly 1,200 words.
- A plain list carries no file uploads, tables or signature fields. Add those in the builder.
- Conditional logic is not inferred from a list.
- Options are used exactly as written, so tidy them before pasting rather than after.

Labels are tidied for length and consistency. The options you list are used exactly as written, so those are the part to get right before pasting.
How do I mark a question as allowing several answers?
Say so on the line, for example "Which tools do you use (choose all that apply)". A bare list of options reads as single choice.
Can I paste from a spreadsheet?
Yes. One question per row pastes as one question per line, which is exactly the shape this expects.
