Signing example
Sign a service agreement online
A service agreement that starts on a fixed date does not need its two signatures in any particular order, so making one party wait for the other only costs a day. This envelope carries the Beacon Systems managed IT agreement from the documents examples with Sign in order off, both invitations sent in the same minute, and an optional purchase order box the client fills in its own words.
The document itself is written out in full on its own page:read the wording there. This page is only about signing it.
Who signs what
- Dervla Moynihan, for Harlow Freight Pty Ltd, the Client
- Purchase order reference, optional and typed · Signature and stamped date on the execution page · Email link
- Aurelio Benitez, for Beacon Systems Pty Ltd, the Provider
- Signature block: Name, Title, Company, Date · Email link
The signing journey
Step 1
Four fields, and the order switch off
The client gets an optional purchase order box, a signature and a date on the execution page; the provider gets a block beside them. Both invitations went out together.
Step 2
The client adds its own reference
Dervla typed a purchase order reference into the optional box, so the accounts system that matches monthly invoices has its own label on the signed agreement.
Step 3
She signs and the date stamps itself
One drawn signature, the consent statement accepted, and the date beside it printed as Sep 12, 2026. The effective date is fixed at 1 October 2026, so the two are different facts and both are on the page.
Step 4
The provider signs independently
Aurelio did not wait on the client and was not waited on. His block printed FOR BEACON SYSTEMS PTY LTD over four lines: his name from the recipient record, the title and company he typed, and his own stamped date.
Step 5
One certified agreement each
The listener stamped both sets of fields into one working copy, certified it and emailed it to both signers and the sender, with the certificate as a separate download.
Every field, and who fills it
Four fields between two companies, and the lightest set on any of these pages. The client signs, dates itself and drops a purchase order reference into an optional box; the provider answers with one block carrying Name, Title, Company and Date. That is all a two year managed service needs at signature, because the substance is in the pages above it: the four severity levels, the response and fix targets, the forty included hours and the exclusions. Three values were typed by a person here. Each name came from its recipient record and each date from the moment that party pressed submit.
How to adapt this envelope
A client whose finance lead must countersign adds a third recipient and turns the order switch on, so the operational signature lands before the budget one. A negotiated schedule of sites earns its own initials spot for the client, marking the list the monthly charge is calculated from. And the annual renewal is a new envelope naming the new term and the adjusted charge, never an edit, because nothing on a sent envelope can be changed.
Watching a parallel envelope
With the order off, the status page shows two independent badges rather than a queue. Each moves from Waiting to Viewed to Signed on its own, and the envelope sits at partially signed while one side is outstanding. A badge stuck on Waiting after a few days usually means the invitation went to a shared inbox, and Resend rotates that link and sends a fresh one without touching the other signer.
What makes this signing flow work
Order off, because the start date is fixed
The agreement commences on 1 October 2026 whichever signature lands first, so queueing the two would add delay and nothing else. Both invitations went out at once and the envelope completed as soon as the slower signer got to it.
The purchase order reference comes from the buyer
A managed service bills monthly for two years, so a mismatched reference is an argument every month. Putting an optional box on the acceptance page lets the client type the label its own accounts system will look for, rather than the provider guessing it.
The service levels are in the file that was signed
The severity table, the response targets and the exclusions are pages of the same certified PDF, hashed together with the signatures. When a severity one is argued about in month fourteen, the definition being pointed at is the one both sides signed.
Questions people ask
Does it matter who signs first?
Not on this envelope. Sign in order is off, so both invitations went out together and either party could finish first. The agreement takes effect on the date named in it, and the certificate records each signature at the moment it actually happened.
Does a typed name carry the same weight as a drawn one?
Yes. The pad has a draw tab and a type tab, and the typed result is rendered to an image, hashed and stamped exactly as a drawing is. On a managed service the evidence that gets used is rarely the mark anyway; it is the severity table sitting in the same certified file as the two signatures.
What happens if the purchase order box is left empty?
Nothing stops. The field was marked optional, so the envelope completes without it and the signed agreement simply carries no reference. A required field, by contrast, blocks the submission until it holds a value, which is the switch to use when the reference is essential.
How long does each party have to sign?
Thirty days from the creation of the envelope, for both of them, and no screen in the app moves that date. Past it the link reports that the signing request has expired. The agreement's own start date, 1 October 2026, is printed in the document and is not affected by when either signature lands.
What if the monthly charge is wrong once it has gone out?
The envelope cannot be edited, so the fix is to withdraw it. That voids both live links, tells anyone still holding one that the sender withdrew the document, and leaves the corrected agreement to go out as a new envelope with its own certificate.
What if one party declines?
The envelope moves to declined, nothing further is stamped, and the sender receives a Declined email carrying the reason that party typed. Because the order is off, the other signature may already be stamped, and it simply never completes. A revised agreement goes out as a new envelope.

Make my sign a service agreement onlineOther signing examples
Sign a sales contract online
A sales contract is argued about three pages before the signature page, on the price, the delivery window and the warranty. This four page envelope puts the customer's initials on each of those pages before the execution block, runs a six digit emailed code in front of the whole thing, and finishes with two company blocks side by side on page 4.
Sign a supplier agreement online
A three year supply agreement is signed once and then argued about for three years, usually over the price review mechanism or a missed service level. This envelope puts the supplier's initials on each of the five pages that carry those terms, requires a six digit emailed code from both companies, and finishes with a signature block for each side on page 6.
Sign an order form online
An order form is a quotation waiting for two numbers: the quantity on each line and a signature under it. This envelope turns the Sandbar Safety Supplies quotation into an order by giving the buyer a typed box in each line of the product table, then a signature on the next page, with the account manager countersigning to release the order to the warehouse.
