An Adalo alternative that writes the app for you

Adalo is a visual no code builder for native iOS, Android and web apps, with an AI assistant, a hosted database, Stripe payments, custom actions and publishing to the app stores. OneCraft Sites has an AI agent write a website or a native Expo app; an app can be based on one of your websites, taking its colours, fonts, content and database.

The short verdict

Adalo suits someone whose main product is an app, designed visually screen by screen, with its own database, logic and store publishing support. OneCraft suits a business that wants an app written for it by an agent, often matching its website and sharing its database, without designing every screen.

Where Adalo is better

Where OneCraft is different

App first or site first

Adalo starts from the app and can publish a web version. OneCraft can start from either, and an app can be based on one of your websites. For a restaurant, shop or clinic, customers usually find the website first; the app serves regulars, which is why basing the app on the site often makes sense.

Publishing to the stores

Both help you reach the App Store and Google Play under your own developer accounts. In OneCraft you run test or store builds through Expo from the builder, then submit from your own accounts; iPhone builds need your Apple key.

Costs to compare

Adalo plans are on its pricing page. OneCraft Expo builds need a paid plan at 5 credits each, and AI work bills 1 credit per US cent of model use plus 1 credit per export. A measured app generation used 55 to 72 credits across the whole pipeline.

Who should stay with Adalo

Stay with Adalo if the app is your main product and you want to design screens visually with logic, relational data and integrations. Move if your business wants an app written from a brief, often based on its website, rather than designed screen by screen.

Questions people ask

Can OneCraft publish my app to the App Store?

Not for you. OneCraft writes and previews the app and runs test or store builds through Expo, on OneCraft's Expo organisation unless you connect your own token. You submit to the App Store and Google Play from your own developer accounts, and an iPhone build needs your Apple key.

Do I need a website to make a OneCraft app?

No. You choose a website or a phone app when you create a site. An app can be based on one of your OneCraft websites or a web address, taking its colours, fonts and content, and its database when it is your own site, but it can also start from a brief alone.

Can I design the app screens myself?

Not on a canvas. You describe changes in the app builder chat, and the agent edits the code and refreshes the preview. The plan gives the app 3 to 5 tabs ending with an Account tab, and you can ask for the screens and tabs you want in the brief.

Can the app take payments?

Yes, on a paid plan. The agent builds checkout through OneCraft's payments broker: Stripe Checkout as a direct charge on your connected account, with prices read from the database and a webhook that marks orders paid. The platform fee follows your plan: Starter 2 percent, Pro 1 percent, Pro+ 0.5 percent.

Is my data in one place for the site and the app?

Yes, when the app is based on one of your websites: it uses the same database, so a menu item or price changed once appears on the website and in the app, and an order from either lands in the same tables. An app started from a brief alone gets its own database when it needs one.
