The short verdict
Eventbrite is the better pick when you need strangers to find your event: its marketplace reaches local ticket buyers, free events cost nothing, and its organizer app scans tickets at the door. OneCraft suits a recurring small event, such as a club night, workshop series or community dinner, whose audience already knows the organiser: events, tickets and RSVPs live on the organiser's own website, money goes to their own Stripe account, and the fee per ticket is a percentage with no fixed per ticket charge.

Where Eventbrite is better
Reaching new people
Eventbrite's discovery marketplace shows your event to local ticket buyers who have never heard of you. OneCraft has no marketplace; people find your event through your own site, your list and search.
Scanning at the door
Eventbrite's organizer app checks guests in by scanning tickets. OneCraft has no camera scanning; staff type the ticket code into the admin, which is slow for a queue of hundreds.
Free events with no plan
Eventbrite publishes unlimited free events at no cost. A OneCraft site needs a paid plan to publish, even when every ticket is free.
Email marketing to attendees
Eventbrite sells email marketing to past attendees from $15 a month. OneCraft can send a newsletter to at most 500 confirmed subscribers per send, with no attendee targeting.
Where OneCraft is different
No fixed fee per ticket
A 25 dollar ticket on Eventbrite's US pricing carries a 3.7% plus $1.79 service fee and 2.9% processing. On OneCraft Pro the platform fee is 1% of the order, plus Stripe's card fee, which matters most on cheap tickets.
Your event, your audience, your site
Ticket buyers stay on your own site at your own domain, and their tickets, RSVPs and check ins are rows in the site's own database that only your admins can read. Nothing lists a competing event next to yours.
Capacity enforced in the database
Free RSVPs go through a function that checks capacity before inserting, and paid tickets are created only when Stripe confirms the order is paid. Each ticket gets a unique code and a page showing it, with add to calendar links.
Fees on a small ticket
Take a 25 dollar ticket. Eventbrite's US pricing page lists a 3.7% plus $1.79 service fee per ticket, about 2.72 dollars, and 2.9% payment processing per order, which buyers usually pay on top by default. On OneCraft Pro, the platform fee is 1%, 25 cents, plus Stripe's card fee, and the plan is $25 a month. For 120 tickets a month the plan costs less than the per ticket fees would; for a single event a year it does not. Check Eventbrite's page for your country, since fees vary.
Check in without a scanner
OneCraft apps and sites have no camera scanning. Each ticket has a code shown as text and drawn as a QR image on its page, and at the door staff type the code into the admin's check in screen, which marks the time. For a folk night of 120 people arriving over half an hour that works; for a festival gate it does not. An attendee search box helps find a name when someone has lost their ticket.
Getting people to come
Without a marketplace, promotion is your job: your mailing list, social posts, local listings and the site itself. With the seo guide, the agent adds Event structured data, share previews and robots.txt, which helps event pages show well in search and in shared links. Visit stats in Settings show visits, top pages and referrers once the site is published.
Who should stay with Eventbrite
Stay with Eventbrite if your events depend on new people finding them, you run large events that need scanning at the door, or most of your events are free. Move if you run small paid events for a known audience, already need a website, and want lower fees per ticket and the buyer details in your own database.
Questions people ask
Can I sell tickets on my own website with OneCraft?
Yes, on a paid plan with Stripe connected. The events guide builds ticket types per event with a price, quantity and sales end date, sells them through Stripe Checkout on your own account, and creates each ticket with a unique code once the order is paid. Buyers see their ticket on its own page.
How do guests check in?
Staff open the admin's check in screen and type the code from the guest's ticket, which marks the ticket as checked in with the time. There is no camera scanning in OneCraft apps or sites. For large queues, plan more staff at the door or use a ticketing platform with a scanner app.
Can I run free events with RSVPs?
Yes. Free events use an RSVP function that checks capacity before it accepts a reply, and attendees can add the event to their calendar. Publishing the site still needs a paid OneCraft plan, unlike Eventbrite, which publishes free events at no cost.
Will my event show up in search?
It can, but nothing promotes it for you. With the seo guide the agent writes titles, descriptions and Event structured data on event pages and a robots.txt; a sitemap is written by hand only when the domain is known. There is no marketplace listing, so share the event page yourself.
Who handles refunds?
You do, in your own Stripe dashboard, since each order is a direct charge on your account. When Stripe reports the refund, the order in the site's database is marked refunded. Set out your refund terms on the event page before people buy.
