A Mighty Networks alternative: a members feed on your own site

Mighty Networks is a community platform with feeds, groups, courses, events and live streaming, from 79 USD a month on Launch with a 2% transaction fee, and branded apps on Mighty Pro. OneCraft Sites has an AI agent build a members feed, groups and courses into your own website or phone app, with members and payments kept in the site's own database.

The short verdict

Mighty Networks is the better pick for a community that lives on live video and events: streaming hours, cohorts, challenges, many hosts and moderators, and branded apps on Mighty Pro. OneCraft suits a club, studio or small creator who wants the community as part of their own website or app, with a members feed, groups, courses and paid tiers built into the site's own database at a plan price of $8 to $125 a month.

Where Mighty Networks is better

Where OneCraft is different

What a members feed on your own site looks like

The community guide builds a /community page with a composer for text and up to four photos, tabs for Following, Groups and Everyone, and post cards with likes, comments and a menu to report, block or delete. Groups can be public or private with join requests. A phone app gets a Feed tab with pull to refresh. New posts show a pill after a 30 second check rather than arriving live, which is fine for a club and slow for a busy chat.

Costs side by side

A community of 300 members paying 10 dollars a month takes in 3,000 dollars. On Mighty Networks Launch that is $79 a month plus a 2% transaction fee, 60 dollars. On OneCraft Pro it is $25 a month plus a 1% platform fee, 30 dollars, with Stripe's card fees on both and OneCraft credits for building and editing. A hosted site database is included on every plan. Check both pricing pages before you decide, since plans change.

When neither is right

If your group mostly talks in real time, a chat app may suit it better than either. If members mainly want a newsletter, a mailing tool is simpler. A members feed on a website works best for a known group, such as a club, a class or a customer community, that posts a few times a day and values a home of its own.

Who should stay with Mighty Networks

Stay with Mighty Networks if live streams, cohort courses or challenges carry your community, or if you want a ready platform with branded apps on Mighty Pro and expert help. Move if your members gather around a business or club that already needs a website, and a feed, groups, events and paid tiers on your own site are enough.

Questions people ask

Can members message each other on a OneCraft site?

The messaging guide builds support conversations, direct messages and groups, kept in the site's database and checked by polling while the page is open. It is not live chat in the instant sense, and there is no push to phones; new messages show in the in site notification bell.

Can I charge for some groups and not others?

Yes. Paid tiers are rows in a plans table billed as Stripe subscriptions on your own account, and courses or content can be gated by tier, with a free tier for people who simply join. Group visibility is public or private with join requests that moderators approve.

Will my community have its own app?

It can, on a paid plan. The agent writes an Expo app with a Feed tab, compose screen, groups and profiles, and test or store builds cost 5 credits each. You submit it from your own Apple and Google accounts, so you pay Apple 99 USD a year and Google 25 USD once.

How are members notified of replies?

Through the in site notification bell, which shows an unread count and checks for new items every 15 seconds while the site is open. There is no push to phones and the site cannot email members freely; a signed in member can only mail their own address or the owner's.

Can I import my Mighty Networks members?

There is no importer. You can export a member list from your current platform, but accounts, passwords and subscriptions cannot move, so members sign up on the new site and paid members subscribe again through Stripe. Plan a short overlap and tell members the date the old community closes.
