The short verdict
Kajabi is the better pick for a creator who wants one subscription to cover hosted course video, quizzes, certificates, a community with live meetups, email marketing to thousands of contacts and a branded phone app. OneCraft suits a smaller teacher or studio that wants a website or phone app written as code, with courses, lessons and members kept in the site's own database, paid through their own Stripe account, and no plan price in the hundreds.

Where Kajabi is better
Hosted course video
Kajabi stores your lesson videos on its own servers. OneCraft does not host video at all: a lesson points at a YouTube or Vimeo link, so you need an account there and its privacy settings for paid lessons.
Quizzes, certificates and drip in one place
Kajabi courses can mix quizzes, downloads and automatic completion certificates, and drip lessons by date. The OneCraft memberships guide covers courses, lessons, gating and progress, and issues no certificates.
Email marketing at scale
Kajabi includes email marketing with 2,500 to 100,000 contacts by plan. OneCraft sends a plain newsletter to at most 500 confirmed subscribers per send, with no sequences, funnels or automations.
Live meetups in the community
Kajabi communities include Meetups with a built in live room. OneCraft builds a members feed and groups, but no live video or streaming.
Where OneCraft is different
Your course data in your own database
Courses, lessons, members and progress are tables in the site's own database with row level security. The agent checks each new table as an anonymous visitor and as a signed in person before a step can finish, so gated lessons stay hidden from people who have not paid.
A much lower plan price, a fee per sale instead
OneCraft plans run from $8 to $125 a month. Payments are a direct charge on your own Stripe account, and OneCraft adds a platform fee of 2% on Starter, 1% on Pro or 0.5% on Pro+, with Stripe's own fees on top.
Code you can take with you
Every site is a React project in its own git repository, and a zip of it downloads at any time. The phone app is an Expo project you build and submit from your own Apple and Google accounts.
What a course site needs, and where each piece lives
A paid course has five parts: the lessons, the video inside them, the payment, the member's access, and the messages that keep students coming back. Kajabi bundles all five. On OneCraft the lessons, access and payment live in your site's own database and your own Stripe account, the video lives on YouTube or Vimeo, and messages are a newsletter of up to 500 subscribers a send plus the in site notification bell. If the fifth part matters most to your business, that split is the main thing to weigh.
Comparing the cost honestly
Kajabi's Basic plan is 179 USD a month billed monthly, and Kajabi Payments charges 2.9% plus 30 cents per sale for US entities. A OneCraft Pro plan is $25 a month with a 1% platform fee and Stripe's own fees on each sale, and a hosted site database is included on every plan. Generation and chat edits use credits, at 1 credit per US cent of model use; builds are free. Work out both with your own monthly sales: at low volume the plan price dominates, and at high volume the per sale fee does.
Moving a course across
There is no importer from Kajabi. Describe the course in the brief, with its modules, lesson titles and prices, and the agent writes the site and its tables. Re upload lesson videos to YouTube or Vimeo as unlisted or domain restricted videos and paste the links into the admin area the agent builds. Members re join through the site, since passwords and card details cannot move between platforms.
Who should stay with Kajabi
Stay with Kajabi if hosted video, certificates, email sequences and live meetups are central to how you teach, or if you already earn enough that the plan price is small next to your revenue. Move if you teach a few courses, want a site and app that look like yours rather than a platform theme, and would rather pay a small fee per sale than a large monthly plan.
Questions people ask
Can OneCraft host my course videos?
No. A lesson stores a YouTube or Vimeo link and plays it in an embed, so the video itself stays on that service. For paid lessons, set the videos to unlisted or restrict them to your domain in that service's settings, because the lesson page is gated but a shared video link is not.
Does a OneCraft course site send certificates?
No. The memberships guide tracks which lessons each member has completed and shows ticks against them, but it does not generate or email a certificate. If your students need a completion certificate for work or registration, Kajabi or Teachable, which both list course certificates, are the better fit.
How do members pay on a OneCraft site?
Through Stripe Checkout on your own connected Stripe account. A one time course is an order and a monthly membership is a subscription from a plans table, with the Stripe billing portal for card changes and cancelling. You need a paid OneCraft plan and Stripe connected in Settings, Payments, before the site can take money.
Can I keep my Kajabi email list?
You can export it from Kajabi and add the addresses to the site's subscribers table, but consent matters: only add people who agreed to hear from you, and expect to confirm them again. OneCraft sends a newsletter to confirmed, not unsubscribed subscribers, 500 at most per send, with an unsubscribe link.
Is OneCraft cheaper than Kajabi?
On plan price, yes: $8 to $125 a month against 179 to 499 USD a month billed monthly on Kajabi. OneCraft adds a platform fee of 2%, 1% or 0.5% per sale depending on plan, plus Stripe's fees, and credits for building and editing. Kajabi also charges card processing through Kajabi Payments, so compare with your own sales.
Will students get a phone app?
They can, on a paid plan. The agent writes an Expo app, which can be based on your website and its database, and test or store builds cost 5 credits each. You submit it to the App Store and Google Play from your own developer accounts; OneCraft does not submit apps for you.
