Operating budget 2026/27
This budget covers the twelve months from [Date] to [Date]. It is an operating budget, so it shows what the centre expects to earn and spend running its programs. Capital purchases are listed separately at the end and are funded from reserves, not from the surplus below.

Why the surplus shrinks. Income grows by $28,900 and costs grow by $38,660, so the surplus falls from $13,500 to $3,740. Almost two thirds of the cost increase is the wage bill and the superannuation on top of it. The board accepted that trade in order to keep the term fee rise to five per cent.
How the year is phased
A yearly total hides the months where the bank account is thin. Term fees arrive in four lumps, the grants arrive in two, and wages leave every fortnight regardless. The quarters below are what the treasurer watches.
What the budget assumes
What would break this budget. A surplus of $3,740 on income of $668,800 is a margin of about half a per cent. Losing the council grant, a quarter of a term of enrolments, or an insurance renewal ten per cent above the estimate would each turn it into a deficit. The board reviews the position against this budget every second month rather than at year end.

That the board adopt the operating budget for the year ending [Date], showing income of $668,800, expenditure of $665,060 and a surplus of $3,740, and approve capital expenditure of $42,500 from reserves. Moved by the treasurer, seconded by the deputy chair, carried with one abstention at the ordinary board meeting of [Date], seven of nine directors present.
