A Humanitix alternative for ticketed events

Humanitix charges nothing for free events and 4% plus 99 cents per paid ticket, or 2.5% plus 50 cents for charities and schools, and gives all of its profits to charity. OneCraft writes an event website with tickets sold through your own Stripe account, for a monthly plan and a 0.5% to 2% platform fee.

The short verdict

Humanitix is the better pick for most event organisers: free events cost nothing, paid tickets carry a per ticket fee with no subscription, it includes a scanning app, reserved seating, waitlists and resale, and its profits go to charity. OneCraft suits an organiser who wants the event's whole website written for it and tickets sold on that site, with payouts to its own Stripe account and a flat plan rather than a per ticket fee.

Where Humanitix is better

Where OneCraft is different

Fees on a $60 ticket

Humanitix's standard fee on a $60 ticket is 4% plus 99 cents, about $3.39, and organisers often pass it to buyers. On OneCraft Pro the platform fee is 1%, 60 cents, plus Stripe's card fee, and the plan is $25 a month. For a weekend of 400 tickets the plan matters little; for one small free event, Humanitix costs nothing and OneCraft cannot take payments on its free plan at all.

What the agent builds

From a brief naming ticket types, prices, add-ons and capacity, the agent writes ticket tables, a Stripe Checkout per order, a confirmation page and an admin area listing orders, with access rules checked as a visitor and a signed in buyer. Volunteer sign ups and the FAQ are ordinary pages and forms in the same site.

Check-in on the day

Humanitix includes a scanning app. OneCraft's admin area lists orders for staff at the door, and any check-in flow beyond that is something to ask the agent for and test before the day.

Who should stay with Humanitix

Stay with Humanitix if you run free events, want a scanning app and seating plans ready, or like that booking fees fund charity. Move if you want one website for the event with tickets inside it, payouts to your own Stripe account and a flat plan, and you are comfortable checking guests in from an admin list.

Questions people ask

Can buyers pay the booking fee instead of me?

OneCraft's platform fee comes out of each payment rather than being added to the buyer's total. You can set ticket prices that cover it, the same way you would account for card fees. Humanitix lists a custom fees structure among its features.

Can I run a free event on OneCraft?

The agent can build an RSVP form that takes registrations without payment. The site still has to be published, and publishing needs a paid plan from $8 a month, so a single small free event costs less on Humanitix. Registrations are stored in the site's database.

Can I limit tickets to the venue capacity?

Yes, when the brief states the capacity. Ticket counts are rows in the site's own database, so the agent can write a rule that refuses orders past the limit; test it in the preview before tickets go on sale. An order that would pass the limit is then refused.

Can attendees get an email confirmation?

The mail broker lets a site email a signed in visitor at their own address, up to 20 an hour, from OneCraft's address with the site's name. Ask the agent for a confirmation email and check it in the preview.

Will the site work on phones?

Every website build runs a layout check at 375, 768 and 1280 pixels wide that fails on sideways overflow and runtime errors, and a review agent reads screenshots at those widths before generation finishes. A phone view that scrolls sideways fails the build and is not kept.
