A Mindbody alternative: class booking on your own website

Mindbody is studio management software priced per location, from A$89 a month in Australia or $79 in North America, with booking widgets, payments, reporting and a listing on the Mindbody app. OneCraft writes the studio's own website or app with classes, bookings and memberships in its own database, from $8 a month.

The short verdict

Mindbody is the better pick for a studio that wants a full management system: staff schedules, room and resource booking, reporting, an AI front desk, automated text marketing and a place in the Mindbody consumer app. OneCraft suits a studio that wants its own website or app with the timetable, bookings and memberships written for it, paid through its own Stripe account, at a much lower monthly cost.

Where Mindbody is better

Where OneCraft is different

Software suite or a site of your own

Mindbody runs the business: schedules, staff, payments, reporting and marketing, with booking widgets that sit on your website. OneCraft writes the website or app itself, and the booking, class and membership features live inside it. For a single studio whose main need is a clear timetable, online booking and paid memberships, that can replace the subscription; for a group of studios with staff payroll and room scheduling, it will not.

Cost for one studio

Mindbody's Go plan is A$89 a month per location in Australia, and Core A$279. OneCraft Pro is $25 a month and Starter is $8, and both include a hosted site database. On card payments Stripe's fees apply and OneCraft keeps 1% on Pro, so a studio taking $10,000 a month in memberships pays $100 in platform fees there.

Reminders and the no-show problem

Mindbody sends confirmations and reminders automatically and can charge late-cancel and no-show fees. OneCraft sends no SMS and lists no automatic no-show charges, so studios that depend on those should weigh them carefully before moving.

Who should stay with Mindbody

Stay with Mindbody if you run several locations, rely on its marketplace for new clients, or need staff, room and reporting tools in one system. Move if you run one or two studios, want booking on your own website or app, and would rather pay a small monthly plan plus Stripe fees than a per location subscription.

Questions people ask

Can members book and pay for classes on a OneCraft site?

Yes, when the agent builds classes and bookings from its guides. Members sign in with email or Google, book a place, and pay by card through Stripe Checkout on the studio's own Stripe account, on a paid plan. The agent checks the booking rules as a visitor and as a signed in member.

Can a full class take a waitlist?

Waitlists are one of the capability guides the agent builds from, so a timetable can offer a waitlist place when a class is full. Ask for it in the brief or later in chat, and the change is built and checked before it is kept.

Does OneCraft sync with Google Calendar?

No. There is no live calendar feed. Bookings live in the site's own database and show on its pages and admin area, so staff check the site rather than a synced calendar. Studios whose instructors plan their week in a personal calendar should weigh that before moving.

Can I move my client list from Mindbody?

There is no Mindbody importer. The site's database is Supabase, so a developer could load an export into its tables, and the agent's access rules then apply to those rows like any others. Members would then reset their password or sign in with Google the first time.

Is there a studio app for members?

An app can be generated from the studio's website, sharing its classes and bookings database, and built for iPhone and Android through Expo on a paid plan. You submit it from your own developer accounts. Apple charges 99 USD a year and Google Play 25 USD once for those accounts.
