A Setmore alternative: booking built into your own website

Setmore is appointment scheduling with a free plan for up to 4 users and a Pro plan at $5 a user a month billed yearly, adding SMS reminders and two-way calendar sync. OneCraft writes the booking pages into your own website or app, with bookings and deposits stored in the site's own database.

The short verdict

Setmore is the better pick for a business that wants a free, ready made booking page and app with email reminders for a small team, SMS reminders and two-way calendar sync on Pro, and a live receptionist option in the US. OneCraft suits a business that wants booking to be part of its own website, written around its services, with deposits through its own Stripe account and the data in a database it controls.

Where Setmore is better

Where OneCraft is different

Booking page or booking website

Setmore gives each business a booking page, a website widget and staff apps, all on Setmore's platform. OneCraft writes a website whose service pages, staff profiles and booking form are part of the site itself. A customer booking an air conditioning regas never leaves the business's own address, and the booking sits in a table the business can see in its admin area.

Reminders and calendars

This is the clearest gap. Setmore Pro sends SMS reminders with 500 credits a month per team member and syncs with staff calendars both ways. OneCraft has no SMS and no live calendar feed, so staff check bookings in the site's admin area. Businesses whose day runs from a shared calendar should weigh that before moving.

Cost for a team of three

Setmore is free for a team of three, or $15 a month on Pro billed yearly. OneCraft Starter is $8 a month and Pro $25, and card deposits add Stripe's fees plus a 2% or 1% platform fee. The OneCraft cost buys the whole website, not only the booking page.

Who should stay with Setmore

Stay with Setmore if a free booking page is enough, your staff live in Google or Outlook calendars, or SMS reminders keep your no-shows down. Move if you want booking to be part of a website written for your business, with deposits paid into your own Stripe account and the bookings in a database you own.

Questions people ask

Can customers pick a staff member and time?

Yes, when the agent builds bookings from its guide with staff and time slots. The brief should name the services, durations, staff and opening hours, and the agent turns them into tables, a booking form and an admin view. Staff are then managed from the admin area.

Can I take a deposit but not the full price?

Yes. Deposits are charged through Stripe Checkout on your own connected Stripe account, on a paid plan. A card authorisation hold is not offered, so a deposit is a real charge that you refund from Stripe if needed. OneCraft keeps 2% on Starter or 1% on Pro.

Can customers cancel or reschedule online?

Only if the agent builds it. Ask for a manage booking page for signed in customers, and the agent writes it with access rules so each customer sees only their own bookings. Check the flow in the preview before publishing.

Does the booking work on phones?

Every website build runs a layout check at 375, 768 and 1280 pixels wide that fails on sideways overflow, and a review agent reads screenshots at those widths before generation finishes. A phone view that scrolls sideways or throws an error fails the build, and the change is not kept until it passes.

What happens to my bookings if I stop paying?

The bookings live in Supabase, either in OneCraft's pool or on your own Supabase account. With your own account the data stays with you; the site's code also downloads as a zip with its migrations. A hosted pool database is part of every plan.
