Sign a remote work agreement online
A remote work agreement is the one HR document that has to carry a safety check, because the workspace is a room nobody from the company will ever visit. This three page envelope puts six workspace checks on page 2 as fields the employee marks themselves, then takes a signature on page 3, with Sign in order off so the manager can sign at any point without holding anything up.
Who signs what
- Sana Whitlock, the employee
- Six checkboxes on page 2, the workspace checklist · Signature and stamped date on page 3 · Email link
- Guy Ferrand, for Ledgerly
- Signature block: Name, Title, Date · Email link
The signing journey
Step 1
Nine fields, and the order switch off
Six checkboxes sit against the workspace checks on page 2, and a signature and a date on page 3. The manager gets one block. Both invitations went out in the same minute.
Step 2
The employee walks her own workspace
Each check is a small typed box. Sana typed a character into all six, for the desk, the chair, the screen, the cables, the lighting and the smoke alarm.
Step 3
She signs on page 3
One drawn signature and the consent statement, and the date beside it printed as Sep 12, 2026 from the moment she submitted. The checklist and the signature are on different pages of the same envelope, so one submission records both.
Step 4
The manager signs independently
Guy did not wait for anything and was not waited on. His block printed FOR LEDGERLY over three lines: his name from the recipient record, the title he typed, and his own stamped date. On a parallel envelope each date records when that person actually signed.
Step 5
One certified copy for the file
The listener stamped both sets of fields into one working copy, certified it and emailed it to both signers and the sender, with the certificate as a separate download.
Every field, and who fills it
Nine fields. The employee owns eight: six checkboxes on page 2 and a signature and a date on page 3. The manager owns one signature block with Name, Title and Date switched on. Only seven of those are typed by a person, since Name comes from the recipient record and both dates stamp themselves. A checkbox is worth understanding before you place one: it is a small typed box, and the stamper prints a capital X whenever it carries any value at all.
How to adapt this envelope
First, where the workspace has to be reassessed each year, send the same envelope again with the checklist page only, and the six marks become an annual record. Second, where the arrangement is a formal flexible working request, add the written response as a second document and a second signature from the decision maker. Third, an employee moving house triggers a fresh envelope rather than an edit, because a sent envelope cannot be changed.
Why the marked checklist matters
Work health and safety duties follow the work, not the address, and the only person who can see a home workspace on the day is the person sitting in it. A certified PDF with six marked checks, a signature, an IP address and a consent timestamp is the record that the employer asked and the employee answered, on a date nobody typed.
What makes this signing flow work
The safety check is a field, not a promise
Six separate boxes, each against its own line, leave six separate marks on the signed page. That is a materially better record than one sentence saying the workspace has been assessed, and it takes the employee about a minute longer.
Order off, because neither signature depends on the other
The arrangement does not become real when one party signs before the other, so making them queue only adds a day. With the switch off both were invited at once and the envelope completed as soon as the slower of the two got to it.
The agreement points at its own policy version
The document names the hybrid policy version it is made under and says the policy wins where the two disagree. The certified copy therefore fixes which version of the rules the employee accepted, which is the thing that gets murky after two policy rewrites.
Questions people ask
Does the employee tick the boxes?
Not quite. A checkbox field is a small box the signer types into, and the stamper prints a capital X whenever it holds any value. The effect on the page is the same, but it is worth knowing when you place one, because the box is sized for a character rather than a tick.
Is a typed signature valid on a work agreement?
The portal offers a drawn pad and a typed name and treats them identically: the typed name is rendered to an image, hashed, stored and stamped exactly as a drawing is, with the same consent record and IP address. Whether a signature binds is a question for your jurisdiction.
Can the manager sign before the employee?
Yes, on this envelope. Sign in order is off, so both invitations went out together and either could have finished first. Turning the switch on would invite the employee first and hold the manager's invitation until her signature landed, which is what a queued approval looks like.
What if the employee cannot meet one of the checks?
The agreement itself says an unmarked box is a conversation rather than a problem to hide, and lists what happens for each check. In the envelope, leaving a required field empty stops the submission, so the honest path is to talk to the manager and send the envelope again.
Is there a deadline on the arrangement starting?
Only the envelope's own, which is thirty days from when it was created and fixed by the app. The first remote day is a separate thing, agreed with the manager once both signatures are in. Past the expiry the link reports the request has expired and the People team sends a new envelope.
Can the checklist be changed after sending?
No. A sent envelope is locked and the editor redirects to the status page. Adding a seventh check means withdrawing the envelope, which voids the live links and emails both people that it was withdrawn by the sender, then sending the new version.

Sign a resignation acceptance letter online
A resignation acceptance has three things people later remember differently: the last day, the leave balance being paid, and the property still to hand back. This one page envelope settles all three, with HR signing a block first and the employee then marking the equipment list, signing, and taking a stamped date neither side typed.
Termination letter acknowledgement e-signature
An acknowledgement on a termination letter proves receipt, not agreement, and the date on it has to be the real one. This envelope carries the Fern and Kettle Cafe letter from the documents examples: one signer, a marked box confirming the final pay statement came with it, a drawn signature and a date stamped from the moment of submission, all behind a six digit emailed code.
Sign a written warning acknowledgement online
A warning letter acknowledgement has to prove the letter was handed over and explained, without pretending the employee agreed with it. This envelope carries the Fern and Kettle Cafe first written warning from the documents examples, signed on the manager's own laptop through the in person handoff, with a text box where the employee says in their own words what they are and are not accepting.
