A Bubble alternative where AI writes the app as real code

Bubble is a visual, no code platform for full stack web and native mobile apps, with its own database, privacy rules and hosting, billed by plan and workload units from $59 a month on annual billing. OneCraft Sites has an AI agent write a website or Expo phone app as a real code project, with its own Postgres database and a zip download.

The short verdict

Bubble is the better pick for someone who wants to build and keep building a complex web or native app by hand in a visual editor, with workflows and over the air updates, and is happy for it to run on Bubble's platform. OneCraft suits a business that would rather describe the app and let an AI agent write it as code, with a Postgres database, row level security checked on every table, Stripe payments to its own account and a project you can download.

Where Bubble is better

Where OneCraft is different

Build by hand or describe and check

Bubble is a tool for building: you learn its editor, data types, workflows and privacy rules, and you can make almost anything. OneCraft is a tool for describing: you write a brief of up to 3,000 characters, the agent writes the app, and you correct it in chat. The first gives control and a learning curve; the second gives speed and less control over details. Neither is wrong; it depends on whether you want to become the builder or stay the business owner who reviews what was built.

Paying for usage

Bubble meters server work in workload units, from 50K a month on Free to 500K on Team. OneCraft meters the AI's work in credits, at 1 credit per US cent of model use, with free builds; a measured website generation used about 14 credits and an app generation 55 to 72. Once published, a OneCraft website is served from a CDN and its database runs on OneCraft's pool or your own Supabase plan.

Moving off Bubble

There is no importer, and a Bubble app cannot be exported as code. You can export its data as CSV files, describe the app to the generator, and ask for the csv guide to bring the rows into the new admin area. Users will need to sign up again or reset their passwords, so plan the switch for a quiet week. Keep the Bubble app running until the new one has handled real bookings or orders for a few weeks.

Who should stay with Bubble

Stay with Bubble if you enjoy building visually, your app depends on custom workflows, or you already have a working Bubble app with users. Move if you would rather describe the app than build it, want a Postgres database and a code project you can hand to a developer, and your app is close to a business website or booking, ordering or members app.

Questions people ask

Is OneCraft a no code tool like Bubble?

You do not write code on OneCraft, but the result is code. The agent writes a React website or an Expo app from your brief and changes it through chat, and you can download the project. Bubble apps are built visually and run on Bubble's platform without a codebase to export.

Can OneCraft build complex business logic?

Within limits. Logic lives in database functions with row level security and in OneCraft's payment and mail brokers, so bookings without double booking, deposits, class waitlists or auctions are well covered. Apps that need custom server code, background jobs or many outside integrations fit Bubble or a developer better.

Does a OneCraft app go to the App Store?

It can, but you submit it. On a paid plan the app builds through Expo as a test or store build for 5 credits each, and iPhone builds need your Apple key. You then submit from your own App Store and Google Play accounts; OneCraft does not submit apps.

What database does OneCraft use?

Postgres through Supabase. Each site gets a schema of its own in OneCraft's pool project with a login role that can reach no other site, or a project on your own Supabase account if you connect it. Every plan includes a hosted database.

Can I take payments in a OneCraft app?

Yes, on a paid plan with Stripe connected. Checkout is a direct charge on your own Stripe account for one off orders or subscriptions, with prices read from the database. OneCraft adds a platform fee of 2% on Starter, 1% on Pro or 0.5% on Pro+, and Stripe charges its own fees.
