Marketing proposal template
Marketing retainer proposal template
A retainer is sold on rhythm, not on a single deliverable, and this marketing retainer proposal template is written that way: a 90 day plan, monthly content and paid campaigns, one report a month and a six month initial term that rolls on month to month.
9 sections, a cover page, 4 priced items (2 optional), AUD with GST, no deposit, valid 30 days

About us
[Your company] is a marketing partner for growing businesses. [Describe the services you run in house, your team and the industries you know best.]
Understanding your needs
[Client company] wants steady, measurable marketing without hiring a full team. [Note the channels that matter, the current results, and the targets for the next six months.]
What success looks like. A consistent publishing rhythm, a growing qualified lead count, and one monthly report that shows exactly what moved.
Our approach
A retainer works when the plan is clear and the reporting is honest. Each month follows the same loop.
- Plan:
- A 90 day plan agreed up front with channels, themes and targets, refreshed each quarter.
- Produce:
- Content, creative and campaigns made and scheduled every month with one approval round.
- Promote:
- Paid media managed against an agreed monthly budget that you pay directly to the platforms.
- Report:
- A plain language monthly report and a 30 minute call on what worked, what did not and what changes next.

Questions people ask
How is a monthly fee priced in this template?
As one line with month as the unit: the marketing retainer is 6 months at $3,500, plus a one off onboarding and audit at $1,800. Proposals have no recurring billing, so the six months appear as a quantity. When the proposal is accepted, the invoice is built from those lines and you raise later invoices yourself.
What do the optional extras cover?
Short video production at $1,200 a month and an email newsletter at $600 a month, both for six months. They are listed beneath the core retainer and are not counted in the $25,080 total. A client who wants either ticks it on the proposal link and the total changes before they accept.
What notice period does the retainer use?
The term and notice clause sets an initial six months, then month to month, with 30 days written notice from either side after the initial term. If the retainer ends early during that term, the cancellation clause makes the current month payable and refunds any prepaid months.
Does the template promise a number of posts?
The deliverables list says eight social posts and two long form pieces a month, written in square brackets so you set your own numbers. It also lists the 90 day plan refreshed each quarter, paid campaign setup, a shared content calendar and a monthly report with a review call.
Is there a deposit on this proposal?
No. Retainers are usually billed month by month, so the deposit is set to none and the payment clause invoices the amount on completion with 14 day terms. If you prefer the first month up front, set a fixed deposit of one month in the Pricing panel and the deposit invoice is created at acceptance.
