A Scribe alternative that outputs a video
If you want a process explained as a short narrated video rather than a written guide with screenshots, OneCraft is a Scribe alternative that turns your screenshots into paced steps with a voice, a marked click and captions. Scribe stays ahead for written step-by-step guides, exports to PDF and other formats, and redaction in capture.

The short verdict
Scribe suits teams that document processes as written step-by-step guides captured from real work, with screenshot editing, redaction, exports to PDF, HTML and Markdown, and sharing by link or embed. OneCraft suits people who want the same kind of process shown as a short narrated video, built from a few screenshots with a marked click and zoom on each step, captions and an MP4 to post or send.

Where Scribe is better
Written guides
Scribe's core output is a written step-by-step guide that readers skim at their own pace and search. OneCraft makes a video only; it does not produce a written guide from the same capture.
Exports to documents
Scribe exports guides to PDF, HTML and Markdown on Pro, and its feature table lists Microsoft Word too. OneCraft exports an MP4 and shares a live player link.
Redaction in capture
Scribe edits and redacts screenshots on Pro and redacts personal and health data automatically on Enterprise. OneCraft can crop the capture area, but anything sensitive inside it must be hidden before capturing.
Capture while you work
Scribe captures a workflow as you click through it, across web, mobile and desktop apps. OneCraft snaps one still frame each time you press Capture step, and you mark the click yourself.
Where OneCraft is different
Watched, not read
Each step plays as a cursor glide to the marked point, a click ripple and a camera easing in at 1.5x or 2.1x, so a viewer who will not read a guide still sees where to click.
Narration written for each step
The director writes 10 to 25 words for each step and an instructional voice reads it in the brief's language. 56 languages have a mapped voice.
Paced for following along
AI tutorials come back at the Calm pace, with crossfades and one slow push-in, and each step holds for 5 to 9 seconds.
Ready for places a guide cannot go
An MP4 can be posted to a video platform, played in a meeting or attached to a message, and the same generator also makes promos when the process becomes a feature launch.

Checked 5 October 2026. Scribe's pricing page lists a free Basic plan, Pro Personal at $25 per seat a month billed yearly or $35 monthly, Pro Team at $13 or $17 per seat with a minimum of 5 seats, and Enterprise at a custom price. OneCraft's pricing page lists Free at $0 with 100 credits a month, Starter at $8 with 500, Pro at $25 with 1,500 and Pro+ at $125 with 7,500. A video generation uses about 20 credits, billed by real AI usage.
A guide or a video
A written guide is best when people look things up: they scan for the step they are stuck on, copy a value, or print it. A video is best when people follow along once: a new starter learning a tool, a customer trying a feature for the first time, a team seeing a changed process. Many teams keep both. If your guides already live in Scribe, a OneCraft video can sit at the top of the guide page as a short overview.
Turning a guide into a video
Take the screenshots from each step, or capture them again in the generator, and paste the step titles into the brief in order. Mark the click on each frame and choose a zoom. The director writes narration that names the same buttons, and the video comes back with an intro, the steps and a wrap-up. Keep one task per video, and re-capture only the frames that change when the app's screens are redesigned.
What could not be checked
Scribe's pricing page lists Share as video in its feature table, but the text served did not show which plans include it or how the video is made, so the page does not describe it further. Its home page now centres on automatic capture of work across apps. Every OneCraft cell names a row in an internal fact ledger checked against the product's source code.
Who should stay with Scribe
Stay with Scribe if your readers want written guides they can skim and search, if you export guides to PDF, HTML, Markdown or Word, if redaction of personal or health data is required, or if your team documents many processes as they work. OneCraft fits when a process is better watched than read.
Questions people ask
Can OneCraft turn a Scribe guide into a video?
Not by importing it. Export your guide's screenshots or capture the screens again, paste the step titles into the brief and mark the click on each frame. OneCraft then writes narration per step and builds a paced video. Nothing in a Scribe account is read directly.
Does OneCraft write a text guide alongside the video?
No. The tutorial output is a video with narration and captions, exported as MP4 or shared as a link that plays in the browser. If you also need a written version, keep it in your help centre or in a guide tool such as Scribe, and link the video from it.
Can I blur an email address in a OneCraft tutorial?
The capture review lets you drop a shot, mark a click and pick a zoom, and you can crop the area you capture before you start. It does not blur part of a frame, so sign in with test data or hide private details on screen before you press Capture step.
How long is a OneCraft tutorial video?
Each step runs 5 to 9 seconds and the intro and wrap-up 3 to 5. With the long setting a tutorial can have up to 12 scenes, so even the longest stays under two minutes. Split a long process into several videos, one per task.
Do I need a desktop to capture screens for OneCraft?
Screen capture uses the browser's screen sharing, which needs a desktop browser. On a phone the generator asks you to upload screenshots instead, and any images taken another way can be uploaded too. Up to 8 images can be attached to a brief.
