LinkedIn company logo size: 400 x 400 pixels
LinkedIn Help gives the company Page logo as 400 by 400 pixels recommended and 268 by 268 pixels minimum. It must be a PNG or JPEG file no larger than 3 MB. The logo appears beside every post, job and comment from the Page, and at the top of the Page over its 1512 by 256 cover.
A company logo on LinkedIn is shown at a few dozen pixels in most places, so the version that works there is usually simpler than the logo on the website. The specification is small; the design decision is what to leave out.

Where the logo shows
The logo is the Page's identity across LinkedIn. It sits over the lower left of the cover on the Page, beside every update in the feed, on every job posting, in search results, and next to employees' current role on their profiles. In most of those places it is shown at well under 100 pixels, and in the feed it is tiny. That is why LinkedIn's recommended upload is only 400 pixels square: a larger file gives no extra sharpness at those sizes.
Square artwork for a wide logo
Many company logos are wide wordmarks. Squeezed into a square, a wordmark becomes a thin line with lots of empty space, unreadable beside a post. The usual fix is a square version: the icon alone, or a monogram, or the first word stacked above the second. Leave a margin of about a tenth of the width on each side so the mark does not crowd the frame at small sizes.
Contrast and background
LinkedIn shows the logo on white in light mode and on near black in dark mode, so a logo on a transparent background may vanish in one of them. Exporting the logo on a solid brand colour, or a white square with a coloured mark, gives a predictable result everywhere. Check it at 48 pixels: if the mark is still recognisable, it will work in the feed and in job listings.
Common mistakes
Uploading the full horizontal logo with the tagline. Using a transparent PNG that disappears in dark mode. Uploading a logo below 268 pixels, which LinkedIn's help page sets as the minimum. Using a file over 3 MB, which fails. And changing the logo for campaigns, which confuses people who recognise the Page by its mark in their feed.
Making the logo file
The flyer editor has no 400 by 400 canvas, so it does not make this size directly. Its square canvas is the Instagram Post at 1080 by 1080, exported at 2160 by 2160; a centred icon designed there can be scaled to 400 by 400 with the image resizer and checked with the image size checker. Flyer designs with a logo slot take an uploaded logo image or initials, which is a quick way to test the square mark at several sizes. The blank 400 by 400 PNG here is a starting square.
Questions people ask
Can the LinkedIn logo be a circle?
The upload is square. A circular mark works well as long as it sits inside the square with a little margin, because LinkedIn shows company logos as squares rather than circles, so the corners of the square stay visible and should be filled with the background colour.
Why does my company logo look blurry on LinkedIn?
Usually the upload was smaller than the 400 by 400 recommendation or was saved as a heavily compressed JPEG. Export a 400 by 400 PNG from the original vector artwork. Fine details such as thin lines and small text blur first at small sizes, so simplify the mark.
Should the logo match the profile pictures of staff?
No, staff use personal photos. The company logo identifies the Page, and it appears beside each person's current role on their profile, which links back to the Page. Consistency between the logo, the cover and the website is what makes the Page recognisable.
Does the logo affect the company's search ranking on LinkedIn?
LinkedIn does not publish a link between logo files and search ranking. A clear, recognisable logo helps people choose the right company in search results and job listings, which matters when names are similar, but the ranking itself depends on other factors.
What size is the LinkedIn cover beside the logo?
LinkedIn Help gives the company cover as 1512 by 256 pixels, PNG or JPEG, up to 3 MB. The logo overlaps the cover's lower left corner, so keep the cover's text toward the right side and leave the lower left as background.
