Russian AI voiceover

Russian is the one language here where the premium tier is thin: only Puck, Charon and Aoede exist in ru-RU, so the usual eight-voice cast collapses to three. The director still writes the whole script in Russian; it just has fewer mouths to give it to.

The Russian voices, with samples

Each sample reads the same line so you can compare them fairly.

Puck

energetic · male

Так звучит мой голос, когда я читаю ваш сценарий в обычном темпе, без музыки на фоне.

Charon

instructional · male

The scene voiceover dialog in the video builder with Russian (ru-RU) chosen and its voice list open
In the video builder a scene voiceover takes a language first, then a voice from that language's list. Here the language is ru-RU and the line is the sample read above.

Why Russian gets three voices, not eight

The live voice catalogue simply does not carry the full character set in ru-RU: five of the eight premium characters, Laomedeia, Erinome, Umbriel, Sulafat and Iapetus, are absent from the locale. The product verified this against the catalogue and handles it silently. When the director's casting lands on a missing character, the male request becomes Charon and the female request becomes Aoede, so generation never fails; it just means your style choice has less effect in Russian than in, say, Ukrainian, which carries all eight. What survives is one energetic male, one instructional male, one neutral female.

Casting within the constraint

Puck keeps the upbeat register for promos and social ads, and he is the only voice with real energy here, male or not. Charon reads instructions steadily, and tutorials pin to the instructional style by rule, so a Russian tutorial is effectively a Charon video. Aoede is the sole female option, a neutral read that also stands in whenever a warm or energetic female voice was requested. If this range is too narrow, each scene's voice dialog searches the entire Google catalogue, where ru-RU carries additional voices in older tiers that can fill gaps.

The mechanics stay the same

Everything around the voice works identically to the fuller languages. The director writes native Russian narration and on-screen copy from any brief, since the Language field, not the brief, sets the output. Scenes stretch to their clips, a spilling line finishes over the next cut in dynamic pace, and each scene offers a start delay in seconds plus speed steps from 0.85x to 1.25x. Music ducks itself to 22 percent under speech. Each synthesised clip is billed by length, about half a credit for a typical line, and an export with no pending narration bills only its render time.

Cyrillic on screen, and in the pill

Pick the look with the alphabet in mind. Seven looks caption Cyrillic in their own font, Cascade, Terracotta, Foundry, Deep Sea, Signal, Rosewood and Parchment; elsewhere the glyphs come from a fallback and sit visibly apart from the design. For the script itself, write numbers as words when the spoken form matters, since Russian numerals decline; сто пятьдесят рублей is exact where 150 рублей leaves the case open. Foreign names respell into Cyrillic in the narration box until the read is right, and the em dash, beloved of Russian typography, is banned from generated narration and best left out of manual edits too.

Captions in this script

Cyrillic captions time word by word like any spaced script, each word lighting as the clip reaches it. The font question decides how they look: Inter, Montserrat, IBM Plex Sans and Lora among the look fonts ship Cyrillic, so Cascade, Terracotta, Foundry, Deep Sea, Signal, Rosewood and Parchment caption in their own typeface. Looks on Space Grotesk, Outfit, Plus Jakarta Sans, Lexend, Work Sans, DM Sans or Poppins draw Cyrillic from a fallback font that will not match. The theme panel's font tab adds more Cyrillic-capable families, Roboto and PT Sans included.

Questions people ask

Which Russian voices can I actually get?

Three premium ru-RU voices: Puck (energetic male), Charon (instructional male) and Aoede (neutral female). The other five characters do not exist in this locale, and requests for them are mapped to Charon or Aoede by gender. The per-scene catalogue search exposes older-tier ru-RU voices beyond these three.

Why does my female energetic pick sound neutral?

Because Laomedeia is not available in ru-RU, the female fallback is Aoede, whose register is neutral. This substitution is automatic and deliberate, chosen over failing the generation. If the energy matters more than the gender, Puck carries it; if the gender matters more, Aoede is the female voice Russian has.

Is the script still fully Russian?

Yes, thin voice tier or not. With Russian in the Language field the director writes every narrated line and every on-screen headline in native Russian, from a brief in any language. Verbatim phrases you supply in Russian are used exactly, which suits slogans and legal wording.

Do captions handle Cyrillic?

Always legibly, word-timed to the voice, though only some looks render Cyrillic in their own font: Cascade, Terracotta, Foundry, Deep Sea, Signal, Rosewood and Parchment do, and the rest borrow a fallback font for it. Captions default on and can be disabled per scene in the voice dialog.

What is the price per clip?

Each clip is billed by length, identical to every other language, about half a credit for a typical line; the reduced voice count changes nothing about cost. Regenerating after a rewrite is billed again for that clip. Exports bill their render time, usually a small amount, and need at least 1 credit left beyond 30 seconds.
