Pitch deck examples by funding stage and purpose

What a pitch deck has to prove changes with the money being asked for: a friends and family round asks for trust, a bank loan for repayment cover, a Series C for efficiency. Each deck here is a finished set of eight to twelve slides for one stage or purpose, built around the question that audience asks.

The question each stage asks

The friends and family deck is eight plain slides on what the money buys and what could go wrong. The bridge round deck shows the runway in months with and without the round and the milestone the money reaches. The convertible note deck puts every term on one slide and shows what the cap is worth at three levels. The Series C deck leads with the burn multiple rather than growth. The bank loan presentation shows repayments against cash flow and the cover ratio a lender needs. The innovation grant deck maps milestones to the grant and the matching money. The investor teaser stops at eight slides and three numbers, because its only job is to win a first call.

Decks that are not for a funding round

Several decks in this group ask for something other than equity. The franchise deck recruits franchisees and shows a single site's profit and payback. The acquisition deck sells a business and shows recurring revenue, client tenure and a price set as a multiple of earnings. The corporate innovation deck asks a company's own executives for budget. The university spinout deck explains the licence, the team and the first money. The strategic partner deck sets out what each side brings and how revenue is shared. The distributor deck asks a wholesaler to carry a drinks brand, with sales per store and the margin left at each step from factory to shelf. The pitch competition deck is timed to five minutes. In each, the arithmetic reconciles across slides and each page shows the working.

Choosing and adapting one

Start from the stage or the audience, not the industry, because a bridge deck for a software company and one for a food brand ask the same question. Seven of the fourteen are Australian. Every company is invented, and companies that appear in more than one deck keep consistent numbers and dates. A deck like these can be generated from a prompt, edited slide by slide and exported as a PDF or a PowerPoint file.

Describe your deck instead

Tell the generator your topic and audience and it writes and designs the whole deck, which you can then restyle, edit and export to PowerPoint or PDF.

Build a presentation

Step by step in the builder: build a pitch deck from a brief, then send the deck as a PDF or PowerPoint. For everything the generator can do, see the presentation maker.
