Business report document templates, with real tables and charts

A business report is written for a reader who has to decide something, so it leads with the answer and then shows the evidence. Each report here is a finished document for one invented organisation, with tables that add up and a stated audience.

Twenty reports, four jobs

Five report on a period: a monthly management report for a cafe group, a quarterly board report, a monthly financial report, a weekly project progress report and a small nonprofit's annual report. Five investigate or check something: an incident investigation, an internal audit, a site inspection, a software test report and a blameless post mortem of an outage. Eight analyse a question: a feasibility study, a market research report, a competitor analysis, a SWOT analysis, a staff survey results report, an expense analysis, an academic research report and a training evaluation. Two account for environmental impact: an environmental impact report and a sustainability report tracked against targets.

Tables, charts and sign off

Every report sets its figures in tables, and twelve add charts where a trend or a share reads faster as a picture. Totals were reconciled before the documents were built: site figures add to the group figure, survey shares add to one hundred percent and emissions sources add to the reported total. The incident investigation, site inspection and test report carry signature blocks, because someone has to own the findings. Longer reports open on a cover and short ones start straight into the summary. Two are Australian: the incident report names the New South Wales safety law and the feasibility study the Victorian planning and local government Acts.

Writing your own

Pick the report by its reader. A board wants decisions and risks, a manager wants variances and next steps, and an auditor or investigator needs evidence tied to each finding. Keep the structure of the closest example, then replace the organisation, the period and every figure with your own, and recheck every total by hand after editing. The AI chat can rewrite text, table cells and chart labels; chart values are changed in the builder. These are examples, not accounting or legal advice.

Describe the document you need

The document generator writes and lays out the whole thing from one description, then lets you edit every section and download a PDF.

Write a document

Step by step in the builder: draft a report from your figures, then the tables, charts and callouts a report uses. For everything the generator can do, see the document maker.
